Calipari post game

Nothing but respect for that presser. I learned some things.

I do wonder if Cal engaged in a bit of pre-tourney head play when he said of Tennessee, "They shoot the ball better here."
Here.

If so... well played.

Actually Tennessee had a better % in Lexington than Knoxville this year.

I used to dislike him also but I hold CRB’s opinions in high regard and he seems to think fairly well of Calipari.
You could quite literally judge a person solely off whether or not Barnes liked them. We are very fortunate to have him leading these young men, as are they. Their futures will be brighter (both on and off court) because of his tutelage.

I must admit I watch quite a few of their post game interviews. Cal’s usually pretty honest especially after a loss.

I would love just one time to hear a coach be totally honest after a win.

“I mean we knew we would beat the breaks off them…….their just not that good.”

ie / Vandy in many cases.

If I have to hear this just one more time, I think I’ll puke………”this is a different Vandy team” “teams don’t want to see this Vandy team”

They are EXACTLY what their 13-11 record says they are…….the SAME Vandy team.
Well they pulled an 0fer in conference last season so they aren’t the same Vandy.

Most overrated coach ever. All the talent he has had everywhere he has coached and just one national title.

Most overrated coach, for me, in any sport--Bobby Bowden, easily. Geeked out of joining the SEC and opted to join the very weak ACC instead, where his team cruised into national title contention every year.

That Calipari has only one title is, IMO, mostly evidence that landing 5-stars is overrated, as they stay a year and leave. Vols saw that last year. It's hard to build a team when you have to teach the fundamentals to a new group every year.

Cal only has 2 directions to go when he speaks about Tennessee & CRB. He can either go the Penny Hardaway bitter pill road or humble pie path….he has to take the latter because CRB flat out out coaches him with less talent. Cal has to actually coach vs out athlete Barnes. I would argue that truth be told he’d rather face Bruce Pearl twice a season than Barnes.

I didn’t like Cal at UMass, hated him at Memphis, and really hate him at UK. But one thing I appreciate about him is he always brags about UT. No matter where. Further, I listened to him in a presser this year and he openly admitted that he called Barnes for his opinion on a scout for a game this year. That tells me everything that I need to know about what he thinks about Barnes.

Exactly. Actually, quite a bit better…except for the free throws. Maybe we just shoot better against his crappy defense.

But, that’s like saying they are “overrated “. The fact is, our guys just outplayed them. I take back everything I have said about Fulky the last couple of weeks. He schooled OT.

There's nobody better at working the refs. I suppose occassionally, on some nights, some crews just don't feel like listening to him.
