You've got to be kidding me.

No. I am not.

What in his career has he won of value... Keep in mind that coaches are judged by what they do in March.

So what has he done to merit this god-status you have bestowed on him?

First of all, to refute another BS line from the Pearlophobes, I'm not giving him "god-status". I'm just refuting the ridiculous ideas like he resembles Fulmer, which is just stupid. You guys have such an irrational dislike of Pearl, it's pitiful, especially for a Tennessee "fan".

In any event, um let's see. There is a coach who has won more postseason games in Tennessee history than any other, advanced to the Sweet 16 more often than any other and that person's name is not DeVoe, Green, O'Neill or Mears. No one's arguing that he's Roy Williams, but his results are better than saying "outside of a few regular season games...he's not winning". This about a coach who's won 75% of his games at UT and more than any in the conference during his time. You can't compare that to Fulmer, who was barely winning half his games and getting his ass handed to him by his rivals before he got fired.

So, I don't know if you all are just being blantantly stupid or just trying to get a rise out of people, but your arguments still suck. Pearl has had more success than any Vol coach in 100+ years of history with an, arguably, top 10 team this year and people still want to b*tch and moan about everything. I don't get it.

I swear, you guys are like the parents who beat their kid for getting a B+ in one class.

If an A is attainable... Then I expect an A.

As far as questioning me being a "fan.". I'll promise you the VASF considers me a fan.

I agree to disagree with you. You feel he is an elite coach...

I agree that he is a flash in the pan, snake of a coach.

I would say it would be foolish for Kiffin to paint his chest.

Pearl has put the fairweather, know-nothing fans back in the seats. He is not however an Elite-level coach that so many want to make him out to be.

His accomplishments speak for themselves. The parallels to he and Jerry Green are eerily similar... And some of us have realized that quicker than others.

Wow, if we all we just as smart as you all. Well, I do know x's and o's and am not some fair-weather fan. Pearl is in no way like Green and there's no "eerily similar" comparisons. Green was actually a good tactition, but horrible at managing the team from every perspective, plus his recruiting sucked.

But, if you want to play the game, please let me know what directional school completely embarrassed us by 30 in the NCAAs under Pearl. When did Pearl have his team despise him and quit on him like Green's did? When did Pearl completely waste the talents of three McDonald's AAs hand-delivered to him?

The biggest indictment of Green was that, in his fourth year, after being established as the UT coach, he had Andy Ikeakor and Brandon Crump as his signees whereas Pearl has Golden and McRae, working on more.

Is that you hat? "A snake of a coach"?

And, what if they are rebulding, like, say last year? Do you expect an A every year, even if it's not likely? Do you understand the concept of rebuilding? I'm not sure. Because, we will be rebuilding next year as well.

Still, it's annoying to see some self-professed expert who lacks the understanding of the ups and downs of a program's nature, the whole cycle. It's why even the great coaches go through periods in which they check out in the first round or don't even make the tournament. Yet, here at the storied basketball institute of Tennessee, we have people ready to burn Pearl at the stake for not getting to, at least, the Sweet 16 every year.

This team is ready and willing this year. All your expectations will be fulfilled. We, as Tennessee fans demand the best, and I think this team will satisfy our hunger.

I can't get over the constant comparisons to Green. Green inherited his talent from Oneal. He lost an NCAA game by 40 points to a nobody. He never did anything in the SEC, not even lose in the finals. There is no comparison. Pearl has not yet established himself as an elite coach and won't until he makes a splash in the NCAAs. But comparing him to any other previous UT coach makes no sense. He has accomplished more than anyone at this point, and hopefull will accomplish much more.

but the Green comparisons and comps to former UT coaches supports Pearl in a big way. Don't expect that to stop.
