Syracuse, Cincinnati, UAB, UTEP, and Southern Miss are all worth the price of admission for an actual college basketball fan.

ehhh. As a casual Tiger fan, if one of those teams accidentally creeps into the top 25 I might go see it. I'll more than likely watch them if they are televised, especially the Conference America games for nothing more than to see an upset.

Ricky Harris and Chris Lowe were the two most talented players on that team last year. They're back. Typical coachspeak in praise of guys who have been around.

They'll need to play out of their mind to stay close in an early season road game starting at midnight eastern against a team as athletic as Memphis.

I didn't believe you. But sure enough, Yahoo sports lists the UT game attendance at 18,389 and the Georgetown attendance at 18,864.

If I recall the GTown game was early in the morning too, versus a Saturday night game vs. UT.

I owe you a coke at the UT-MEM game next year since there's not a game on the Tigers home schedule that interests me enough to attend one this year.

Again, I'll take a Bud. They're same price at FEF. The UT game attendance was still more than 4 Grizzlies games - combined.

As of yesterday, Memphis is a Nike school.

Then he could very well end up at Memphis. I don't follow sponsorships that closely. But when he told me this it was last year before Christmas, our 2 high schools played in an ugly game, and I talked with him after the game. But I keep hearing Iowa, and Iowa State. The question is why would Memphis want him? He didn't even start against us, and was probably in our game about 20 minutes at most. If your not even getting PT on your own high school team, (they are #1 in state, but that's no excuse), then you shouldn't be getting scholarships to a top 25 yearly program.
