We were discussing Cam Newton against Oregon. Not Oregon against UT. You sound like an undercover quack masquerading as a Vol fan. And for that matter I'm not and never have been impressed with the 34 pts Oregons offense put on our depleted defense. Especially since nearly all of their offense only happened after our rediculously thin defense finally wore out in the third quarter.

Since you're not impressed with Oregon's 48 points total against UT, keep in mind that they scored that or more against seven other opponents. If you want to weed out those with sub-par records from that total, then it reduces it to five.

I'd say scoring 48 PPG or more 5 times or more during the season against teams with records of .500 or better is an impressive accomplishment.

Sometime it shows good sportsmanship to give credit where and when it's due. Try it sometime.

I just posted my thoughts from a realist's perspective. In case you have missed the last 5 years of UT football, that was not an insult.

Honestly, you look like a complete biased homer when a team that finished 6-7 get's blasted by said opponent by a 5 TD margin and yet you criticize said opponent for losing a very close game in the MNC game.

What does Oregon's offense have to do with anything at all? Point is, Newton isn't accurate. It's not ONLY BECAUSE HE PLAYED OREGON or whatever; he's just not a great passer.

You could tell Oregon was not on the same level as an SEC team. Their lines couldn't compair. And it was just not an even game despite how close the score made it seem. If they played Alabama the result would of been the same. Or LSU for that matter. All you heard was about this offense but they couldn't run like they do on an SEC school because our linemen are bigger, faster, and stronger. which in football matters a lot.

I really hate doing this because I hate Newton, But since you are implying that my statements are ignorant here is some stats for you from CFBstats.com. In 14 games Newton was 185-280 for a 66.1 % and 2854 yrds. He had 30 tds and 7 ints. I thought there could be some merit to your claim perhaps against better competiton so I checked that out. In 7 games against ranked teams he was 97-152 for a 63.8% and 1336 yrds with 14 tds and 2 ints. In 7 games against unranked teams he was 88-128 for a 68.3% and 1518 yrds with 16 tds and 5 ints. So in finality I think I can say with confidence Cam Newton was in No way an inaccurate passer. I will therefore hold to my claim that Oregons Defense had nothing to do with Cam Newton having missed wide open receivers that he had consistently hit all year long. Especially since he was under very little pressure. He just finally had a bad day. And I hope he sucks so bad in the NFL that his name becomes synonymous with the worst busts of all time.
