AgreedPretty big adjustment from a small single A high school to SEC football. Cam is a true freshman and I believe only a matter of time before he does great things at UT. I think it is a blessing for him that he has people in front of him that he can watch and learn from. The blocking assignments and the overall playbook. I really am hoping we jump on UConn early and often. Getting our young people some valuable playing time will help down the road and into bowl season and next year. It also gives our starters a little breather before Missouri and Georgia. We need to take advantage of this game and hopefully we get to play a lot of folks. Might leave Thornton out there a little bit just to let him get a good flow going. GBO
If you play him vs. UConn and Milton gets injured in the Mizzou or UGA game, you risk burning his redshirt. Absolutely not worth it for a scrimmage against a really weak opponent. However, if he doesn't play until the Vandy game, you can still get him some significant playing time.Nico can play in 2 more games and still redshirt and if this year is like last they made it to where they could play in a bowl and not burn any eligibility because so many seniors and juniors set out of bowls. If we are up he plays against uconn. And Cam I think he plays special teams so he is already past the 4 game but I am not sure.
He needs all the reps he can get to be ready for next year, redshirt or not.If you play him vs. UConn and Milton gets injured in the Mizzou or UGA game, you risk burning his redshirt. If Nico is all he's supposed to be he's NFL bound after his 3rd year regardless if he redshirts or not. He really needs to play at least a full quarter (or two) against UConn to get a jump on next season IMO.If you play him vs. UConn and Milton gets injured in the Mizzou or UGA game, you risk burning his redshirt. Just remember, for every one that acts like that, there are thousands who don't - and who love all our Vols as they grow and develop. I'm one of the thousands and I love Cam and can't wait to see him play more and more! It's all good lol, I've seen so many vol "fans" talk and say so much about some of the other players it's funny to me now.
Boston College also lost to Northern Illinois and almost lost to Holy Cross. As a BC alum (but lifelong Vol fan) BC is not a good team. But back on topic Cam is gonna eat this weekend. 2 TDsI have know idea why everyone is counting their chickens. Conn. took Boston College to the wire. Boston College got beat by Fl St by 2 points. We ain’t learned a dam thing on here!
The key word in your post: "IF". At this point in time, he is not a sure-fire high NFL draft pick after his Jr. year. He may not even turn out to be a high NFL draft pick, but might be a very good college QB. No way of knowing right now, so why waste a possible year that might better prepare him for the NFL and raise the program to a higher level? Makes no sense to me for Nico or UT.If Nico is all he's supposed to be he's NFL bound after his 3rd year regardless if he redshirts or not. Yup, I seen that lol. Yes I agree with that line up allllll the way!!!!@Plove23 Eric Cain on the Locked on Vols podcast listed Cam at #1 on underclassmen players he’d like to see get reps Saturday. His list was 1. Cam 2. Nico 3. Ethan Davis 4. Jordan Matthews 5. Addison Nichols.
Imo Wright should play the first series and then sit, need that guy healthy. Then a rotation of Small/Sampson/Cam until we’re up big then let Cam and Keith close it out. We should even see Wilk in this one if Bishop is still hurt.
