Cam Sutton suspended 8 games

I’m a Steelers fan and a Vol fan. No, based on his statements, he doesn’t get it. Since when does hitting your partner “adversity”? And then to show contrition, he evaded authorities for 11 days before turning himself in. Steelers should cut him.

My job is not to appeal to someone else," Sutton said last month when asked about his message to fans who might question his alleged actions.

"My job is to be the best version of myself and how do I give that off to the mass or how do I give that off to everyone around me? I'm in full control of that.

"So, I'm never worried about a narrative. I'm never worried about what necessarily people say, because obviously, more than likely, they don't know me more than anybody else. ... It gets back to just your foundation, your morals, who you are individually as a human being and just what you stand on. Holding my head high. Everybody goes through adversity. Everybody goes through things in their life that can change in both directions. So, it's all about how you stand on that and what you do from that."

Nothing about sorry for his actions.

Exactly, no Contrition whatsoever.
My job is not to appeal to someone else," Well Mr. Sutton, you would be wrong. You have to "appeal" to the Steelers, the Nfl, and the FANS who make it all possible. Show him the door. That is totally thuggish behavior and post offense attitude.

Last I checked this is still the United States of America. Innocent until proven guilty. Apparently that's too difficult for some of you to understand.

OK, Mr. Omniscient, and god of whatever universe you inhabit -THANK YOU for telling me what he did. Unlike you, I'm not omniscient. Now, as to your question, I'm not going to defend any hoodlum who attacks women, without a life-threatening, or severe physical harm. Is there anything else you want to know? I swear I know you from William Golding's famed novel about another "Lord."

It's just VN. You're not impressing anyone with your words. You are trying to hard. No one cares.

What's with all the blubbering? Are you people okay? If you guys are PF refugees you need to get back in there.

I was really surprised at the time that he didn't get found by the police for 3 weeks. Just based on that, I was not expecting to see him playing later. I guess if the government says it's a misdemeanor, then that's what it'll be. I can't imagine any sports fan forgetting what he did [I mean because he was reported "on the run" which makes it more interesting], but in the end I don't care about the blubbering, so that's okay. Anyway, as you were. Don't pay me no mind.

Battery, in most states, is any unwanted touching. Misdemeanor battery or simple battery (which is what he was charged with) is unwanted touching that does NOT cause serious injury.

Y'all act like you never pushed someone off of you that got in your face.

I don’t think he was defending him, FWIW, but I’m not familiar with previous posts you’re referring to.

I have heard many “innocent until proven guilty “, “let’s get all the info”, etc but Sutton hasn’t denied it once. No “ani look forward to defending myself”, “I didn’t do this”, etc. He didn’t lawyer up, he fled like a punk. Anyone who puts hands on a woman or a child is a punk, regardless of where they play/played, regardless of what political party they are, etc. I wanted Ellis off the 08 team for what he did, I hated the Titans getting Simmons, who beat up a girl on video. I hate that the NBA/NFL slap these guys on the wrist and they get huge contracts a year later. They can do what they want with their money, but I hate it.
Simmons shouldn’t have hit the girl more than once, but he was defending his sister who was getting her ass kicked. And then the girl said something about his sister’s children who had passed away recently… honestly that bish got what she deserved. I’d whoop a lady’s ass too if she hit and then made fun of my grieving sister who’d lost her children.

I'm not sure about the over moralizing here.

Larry Bird is one of the greatest BBallers to ever play and he's also a man who virtually disowned his first child, barely acknowledged her, ignored her letters reaching out to him, etc for decades.

So Larry's a useless human who should've never been able to play in the NBA because of how he treated his kid?

C'mon, these guys are hired to play a sport, not be preachers.

Thought it was a woman? At this point, since I got no clue what the dude did or didn't do, I'll just have to accept that his "punishment" fits the "crime".

We have a certain category of fans who live for the specific purpose to spew hate at our players and ex-players who so much do something almost wrong. Matters not how trivial or major, facts are irrelevant to these player-haters. They are swift to judge and condemn, as if they themselves are holy and faultless.
Woe to whoever calls them on their behavior, you have committed a cosmic violation equivalent to unraveling the quantum universe, and are guilty of every known and unknown infraction.

Cam lost big time, whether he did anything or not. He was entering year two of a three year $33M contract with the Lions. The Lions cut him and he lost out on $21M. His former team, the Steelers, picked him up for league minimum $1.1M. He looses half of that due to the suspension, So, instead of looking at $10.5 M this year, he gets 1/2 a M. $10M loss is a HUGE hit.

That's assuming a crime even happened. I don't know if its true or not but from the reports and the details from the affidavit it seems sketchy at best. But I have never in my life heard of a person in the middle of an argument as their first lane of attack bite someones neck. This man was like I'm pissed I'm gonna bite your neck.. then I'm gonna strangle you. Is he a vampire? Half mosquito? Biting happens in altercations but not as offense it is usually a defensive action. Biting also does not leave quarter sized injuries unless its a baby vampire. I dunno someone help me out here? Convince me the accusations in the affidavit make any sense whatsoever if read as presented? Which is exactly why they dropped it from felony to misdemeanor. And no they are not gonna just drop the charges outright until they get more evidence. Once you get accused (in DV) its on you to clear your name no matter what the law says that's how it really works. It is sickening.

Normally I would not chime in but the Steelers signed him way too fast for him to be guilty. Them specifically signing him also says a lot because he played there for years...they know this guy and if you're the type of guy that's into vampiric stuff it woulda showed up in practice at least once right? We'd have anemic WR's all over the place.

Neck biting? Vampires? And I thought a boxer having his ear being bitten off was looney tunes. This world is nuts.
