I bet he's never heard of you either and he's probably better off for not knowing you
We’re “losing” walk-ons and low roster players that needed processing for the 85 number. If you haven’t paid enough attention to know what’s been on the roster, then no boning up is going to help you.I figure I'll learn the roster the week before kickoff.
I appreciate the athletes having the same rights as the coaches to change programs but this is taking some of the fun out of football. I use to love tracking the recruits and watching them develop. Some of them took 2-3 years but it was always great when the coach's bet on a kid paid off.
Now, if they aren't getting substantial playing time by their 2nd year, they're gone.
Might be headed to Ole Miss along with Kumaro Brown. They close.
Your "saying" comes from a fictitious character in a satirical play from 1903. I would say Tennessee's greatest teaching coaches -- Neyland, Majors, Fulmer and Heupel -- were all doers also. Not so crazy. The saying those that can, do. Those that can't, teach. How many really great players make great coaches? I think there's something about guys who fought and didn't make it that allows them a unique perspective in how to deal with players and the struggles they face.
Good luck to him. Figured this might happen due to position switch. Hopefully can play somewhere like Memphis. I guess we still might have a few of these today, especially if they have an idea of the number of scholarships that NCAA might take away with penalty.
