Can anyone who knows explain why a walk-on would have to enter the transfer portal?

The ebb and flow thinking of some college football players is beyond me. But Jerrod was buried deep and unlikely to see field in the foreseeable future. Happens to PWO a lot.

If only a high football IQ could overcome physical limitations in all instances. Sadly, that's not always the case.
