Can JaMarcus Russell play QB in the NFL...

I have to watch Carolina games where I live on Fox. David Carr was outplayed last year by a rookie from Oregon State (Matt Moore, I think). It's known that he holds onto the ball way to long in the pocket. He also may have the most akward throwing motion I have ever seen in a QB.

The beating he took in his rookie year stunted his growth as a QB, he might of been good if he could of fell into a better situation, maybe a situation where he got sacked 30 times... instead of 80

You always have to wonder when a guy comes out of nowhere in a contract year.

that is very true, but I think the Browns in general were just a better team. Solid running game, good receivers and an O-line that didn't get him murdered. I also think he could have shined simply by knowing he had a spot on the bench warmed up for him if he did fail. That spot is still there and is still nice and toasty, even for winters in Cleveland. He also has a plethora of weapons to help him out. I think Anderson will be fine and Quinn winds up elsewhere.

But to my original point, if he does implode, Quinn is there. There's a huge question on if Quinn will make it, but having two qbs poised to be big timers, Cleveland's qb situation is anything but a mess. Most teams would love that situation if they could afford it.

The most itelligent thing the Browns did was sign Jamal Lewis. He put the Browns on his back last year in some games. The snowy game? I forget against who but that was some classic football.

matt moore was the worst QB in the pac-10 for 3 out of his 4 years. i can't believe he'd actually be a servicable QB in the NFL.

It was one of those Trent Dilfer deals in that he handed the ball off and when he was asked to throw the ball it was done in a very safe manner.

He was 2-1 as a starter beating Seattle and Tampa, his loss came to Dallas, 20-13.

Let's just say if I had to pick between David Carr and Matt Moore, there is no doubt in my mind that I would pick Moore anyday.

Do you realize that most NFL teams have more than 2 quarterbacks on their roster?

The Giants have yet to announce Carr as the 2nd string and they tendered Lorenzen's contract. Yeah, it sounds like Carr has been automatically handed the backup spot in NY.

Pretty much....

Derek Anderson was one of the most inconsistent, spotty QB's I've ever seen in the Pac-10, and he just put together a great year in Cleveland. Sometimes there are guys that come out of college with what you'd think to be no shot in the NFL and just shine for some reason. Not that I think it will happen with Matt Moore, just saying.
