Can Nico have a great year next year

That being said, to answer the OP I do not expect a “great” season because we don’t have any proven receivers. There’s tons of potential, but little evidence.
True. But a player’s potential usually equates to on field performance soph or junior year. I still think Matthews could be a freshman phenom.

If he can throw an accurate catchable ball then there doesn’t appear to be any reason he can’t be successful in this offense.

With him scrambling and quick, he can make a defense stay humble. I really do feel like we can be quick snapping the ball again. I feel like he will be a ble to throw perfectly on the run to someone. What else can he do?
Honestly, Heupel has done one masterful job of not showing us a darned thing for next year.

What we've seen thus far is as limited and enticing as peeking through a keyhole.

I nevertheless find myself surprisingly confident he's going to wow us next fall. I mean, Hendon good. Or even better.

I can't wait. Just 8 months till football season again.*

Go Vols!

* and free bonus, we still have a bowl game to enjoy!

I kind of feel for him a little; he will be expected to be the savior of the program, but without some guys around him and better play calling, he can't do a whole lot.

The night before ESD Nick went to visit Nico at his home. Nico wouldn't see him and left him standing outside his hat in hand. He became one of my Mt. Rushmore Vols before taking a snap at UT.
I certainly hope this isn't true as that would be extremely disrespectful. I'd hope his parents raised their son to be better than that.

I heard Saban was waitin outside in the yard when Nico released an assault badger. Unconfirmed, so no link.

That’s hard to believe… where’d you hear this? 😂

Would be great to see Nico and the young WR group together for 3 years. Pipe dream, sure, but that would be fantastic for this team.

The way I hear it tell, Nick was going hard after Nico and Nico told him he was going to the Vols. I think Nico's last visit was the Tennessee-Alabama game, I know he was there I saw him walk down to the field (we sit in section P, that's were all the prospects walk onto the field, so I know he was there). I think Nico was supposed to visit Bama later on but didn't, I could be wrong but I think he was.
Nick wanted to see him and Nico's parents said he wasn't interested. Nick went anyway with an assistant, can't remember who, and Nico's dad said he didn't want to talk to him. I guess sometimes you can get too pushy, even if you are Saban. That's the way I heard it.

I know a lot don’t like him on here but I like to listen to Dave Hooker. He still has friends who are tied to the program. He has been saying for quite awhile that Nico is as advertised and possibly better. So if he if what we think he is, along with a veteran OL, a loaded RB and WR corp a potential really good TE, then I think he could have a great year.
Play calling HAS to be better.

as freshman go, he can but don't expect Hooker type year as a freshman. He will struggle early on as many freshman do... be mid-season or later before he gets comfortable. check out Peyton's first year... Check out Dante Moore this year. Nico will be a freshman..

Nico will be a Redshirt Freshman. It is still trial by fire, but he's been working in Heupel's system for over a year.
