Can we get to Beck other key is to stop their running game and tackle Bowers

If we hadn't experienced so many injuries, I'd say it's time to stop protecting Milton and run your full package. Sink or swim being exactly who you are, but with all these injuries, we're playing youngsters who likely don't have the experience to make the reads Heupel's offense requires of WRs. Still, at this point in the season, coaching scared is silly. Take your shots and be who you are. No one expects us to win this game. Nothing to lose. Might get lucky and hit a few big ones. At least you go down swinging.
I mean we can take shots down the field, but we must find a way to pick up 4 or 5 yards a play. I just think it must be don as well.

Problem is that blitzing the QB opens you to chunk runs. Run fitting allows Beck to scan the field to find Brock. Got to pick your poison and hope for the best. UGA does that to other teams in that they make them one dimensional. I expect Kirby will play heavy in the box and make Milton beat him with his arm.
We are going to have to play the best 60 minutes we’ve played all year, one week after we played the worst 60 minutes we’ve played all year

I feel like playing at home, that our defense can get to him. I also feel like we can put a lot of pressure on him, before he gets rid of it.

Other key: stop the run, and don’t let them get big chunks of yards.
If we can do that, we can win this game.
We have to tackleBrock and get him down. We can’t let him break tackles.
Catch 22. Risk/reward. If you can get to him, yes altho Beck passes for 75% against the blitz so if you don’t get him, you have left the middle wide open and they love crossing routes. Matter of fact, they are mostly tiered and probably their fav route trees. So, if you do blitz and get there, huge reward. However, if you don’t, they most likely got 20+ on you.

Ole Miss tried this last week and entered the week #2 in SEC in sacks and TFL. UGA didn’t give up either to OM and Beck was never touched. UT opens this week now #2 in sacks in SEC. UGA has given up league low in sacks given up with only 9. Only 58 yards for loss on the year.

Strong suit for UGA is the passing game, only 100 yds from SEC lead. UT must stop their running game and make them one dimensional. Can try taking away the passing game but UGA would rather run and eat clock.

Stop the run, create turnovers. UT wins.

I hate to say it but there’s really no stopping Bowers. He’s incredibly athletic and a monster. The way to stop Bowers is to pressure Beck and try to force errant throws. I’d bring a blitz package just about every down this Saturday. What do we have to lose?

That soft coverage garbage ain’t gonna cut it because you give a guy like Bowers or McConkey some running room after the catch and they will turn a 6 yard gain into 35 real quick.

Agreed. I’d blitz every single down and wear them down to the point of them being completely sick of it. Gotta put pressure on them to make mistakes.

Hard to imagine that stat against any opponent, but to do it against an SEC foe is incredible. Granted it's Ole Miss and they don't do defense, but that's still an amazing stat. Then again Larry posted their recruiting class rankings since Kirby took over so it's clear that they're up to their eyeballs in 5 star talent.
It’s not a good week for me to be here, but OM is third in sacks in conference play and is fifth in TFLs, and that’s after getting basically none against UGA.

Setting aside the obvious stuff (turnovers, special teams, hitting long passes), UT wins by attacking the edges of UGA’s defense in the run game and going after #6 on defense—he’s a young CB who hasn’t locked down the position yet. Stopping UGA probably looks like bend don’t break and forcing FG in the red zone. If UGA can get chunk runs or passes, they’re hard to beat. The passing game is ahead of the running game, but not by a lot.

UGA’s defense is not as good as it has been. The DL is solid, but it doesn’t have a wrecker who has emerged. Pass rush is a group project without a Pearce-style player who commands all eyes. One starting ILB is a true freshman forced into the role by injury: he’s super talented but plays young. Safeties are probably the best unit. We struggle to set the edge and Missouri just about beat us by attacking that weakness over and over again.

UGA is rightly favored, but this game ties my guts in knots. UT has (and has earned) all my respect.

The key is our D can’t just give the same standard 4-3 look while playing soft zone every play. We have to mix it up and stay aggressive with D play calling. We don’t have to blitz everytime but we need to try our best to keep them confused as to what we are doing. We have to tackle great and cause turnovers and feed off the crowd. We absolutely have to say away from undisciplined penalties. GBO! I believe!

Our defense and Neyland are going to be a problem for Georgia. That much I promise.

My keys to Tennessee potentially winning this game:

1. Limit Georgia's run game to 150 yards or less.
2, Sack Beck at least 5 times.
3. The defense gets 4 turnovers.
4. Tennessee's run game gets 175 yards or more.
5. Milton throws for 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

I'm betting that UGA will have a "perfect game" against us. As the talking heads like to say. Zero penalties.

Refs will make sure of that.
