He is obviously a talented analyst and he's got plenty of experience. I don't think you can flip a light switch and get a job like his, on such a big stage, so he's proven himself at some point.
I do think he is no longer at the apex of his career and I think he has become lazy in his preparation. It is common for him to mis-pronounce or completely mis-identify players and he is frequently wrong about his rule interpretations. This all comes from a lack of preparation - being lazy, complacent.
It can't be easy to remember all the rule changes and all the names of the players, their history, etc., but those are the things that make a great good analyst. National broadcasts need the great analysts and finding 10-15, who will consistently perform proper due diligence, shouldn't be so hard - considering the broadcast companies' resources and all the talent in the field.
The fact that he can seem to be overly opinionated and sometimes seems to favor one team over an other is why I wouldn't mind if he never-ever... ever called another UT Game. :shaking2:
