Canada's Truck Convoy to Protest Mandate

Ottawa needs 50,000 troops to contain 40 (not 100) trucks? Seems a bit heavy handed, but ok…

Sloly said that clearing protesters out of the city also comes with risks, that police aren't capable of blocking access to the capital and that he would need a force of 50,000 officers to do so. He said that military aid remains a possibility.

"This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue," Ottawa police Chief Peter Sloly said in a briefing to city councilors. "I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this.

They’d need to recruit a whole new police force.

Oh I have no doubt that the Canadian police and/or army could do these guys some severe damage, several would be hurt or even killed. I just think any such action would backfire on the Canadian government, may backfire to the point of bringing it down.

I can’t imagine any scenario where the Canadian populace would support Canadian military assets firing on Canadian citizens. They just don’t seem hardwired for that kind of nonsense.

I’d guess it takes a fairly rough type to be a trucker up there. Lose lose. They’d need to recruit a new police force and they’d all starve from no goods moving to stores from distribution.

The idiot Canucks need to quickly find a way to save face, declare a moral victory, and give them whatever the hell they want.
