Canada's Truck Convoy to Protest Mandate

Likely Hundreds, Not Thousands
Many Canadian news outlets have used the word “hundreds” to quantify the number of trucks in this convoy. The CBC, for example, reported: “Hundreds of truckers set off from British Columbia to Ottawa on Sunday to protest a federal vaccine mandate despite the urging of the country’s largest trucking federation to comply.”

Adrian Ghobrial, a reporter for the Toronto news outlet City News, said that while thousands of people have come out to watch and support the truckers as they drive by, he was skeptical that the convoy consisted of more than 100 trucks:
I don't think this aged well.

Oh I have no doubt that the Canadian police and/or army could do these guys some severe damage, several would be hurt or even killed. I just think any such action would backfire on the Canadian government, may backfire to the point of bringing it down.
Hasn’t deterred the Hyper Authoritarian Australian government in the least.

You can stretch a few hundred trucks over 45 miles. Where's a picture/video of them all lined up?
According to Google, the average tractor trailor is 70-80ft. 5280 ft in one mile. 45 miles is 237,600 ft. That is about long enough to contain 2970 tractor trailers. I am assuming worst case scenario using 80ft average length and assuming every truck in the caravan is a tractor trailor and not a mix of various other vehicles.

I say all that to say that to say that a few hundred vehicles would barely be noticed in a 45 mile stretch because there would simply be too much space between vehicles to make it look like a cohesive unit.

When that guy says there is no "policing solution", I think full well that he was alluding to passing this responsibility on to the military.
Well if they try it I can’t wait to see if the regular troops will raise arms against their fellow citizens on their own soil. That could get out of hand very very quickly and may spark some ish the idiot in the WH really doesn’t want to get the party started on.

Guess it’s a good thing the Canadian government disarmed their citizens…..for the most part.

I think they have plenty of hunting rifles left still. Of course 90% of the populace in Canada lives in a few populated cities which probably have never heard of guns.

Dudley Doright you rube! Get it right!

And don’t forget about Penelope Pureheart! 😬

LOL...tired man....tired.

I tell you what though, the workload of constant price increases, availability, lack of inside help is about to make me semi-retire. I drove up to Toccoa Wed for the Water Plant there for a 10HP compressor issue which wasn't ours. Thought I would have other blower and pump ops, but anyhow...quoted this small $6K compressor with a lead-time without even checking at 1-2 weeks. They come back and ask me to confirm...22-24 weeks.

Get a $10K order for a 1550 gallon air receiver quoted back in Nov and in stock, and now it went up $2K and delivery in June..so I gotta look for other mfg and pricing for some little $10K order. because our greenhorn dont know **** and takes forever, and this customer does $400K in business with me every year. So I gotta spend all this time doing inside sales stuff, putting quotes together, sending manuals, cause we have a greenhorn for compressors and no inside engineer blower and vacuum pump guy...

There is something everyday and takes like 3 times the effort to accomplish anything.

So if I say Dudley Doolittle...it is Dudley Doolittle damnit..lol

Actually I was a bit crossed up myself. Penelope Pureheart was really Penelope Purebred from Underdog. Dudley’s squeeze was Nell Fenwick

I have some good Canadian friends and there’s plenty of gun violence up there in the cities. They have ridiculous gun laws and still doesn’t prevent a criminal from doing what they want to do.
