I'm honestly surprised Revolution even got a second season.

A few years ago I probably would have been sad over Community, but I lost interest last season and didn't even watch this season.

I was enjoying "The Tomorrow People" but the last episode jumped the shark IMO. The final twist just made no sense.

CBS Cancels ‘The Crazy Ones’, ‘Friends With Better Lives’, ‘Bad Teacher’, ‘Intelligence’ & ‘Hostages’

CBS Cancels ‘The Crazy Ones’, ‘Friends With Better Lives’, ‘Bad Teacher’, ‘Intelligence’ & ‘Hostages'

After picking up five new drama series and two new comedy series yesterday — plus previously ordered straight-to-series Battle Creek — CBS proceeded with cancelling all of its freshman bubble shows. That includes fall comedy The Crazy Ones, which marked the TV return of Robin Williams; drama Hostages, and midseason entries Friends With Better Lives, Bad Teacher and Intelligence. That means that the only freshman CBS series to make it to Season 2 are comedies The Millers and Mom. Meanwhile, the only returning series still on the bubble, veteran The Mentalist, has been renewed.

The demise of Intelligence and the long-forgotten Hostages was fully expected as neither made a mark in the Monday 10 PM time slot though there was some argument made about procedural Intelligence. Friends With Better Lives, which had been envisioned as a potential successor to How I Met Your Mother and launched behind the series finaleBAD TEACHER of the long-running CBS comedy, had a shot at a renewal and had supporters at CBS. I hear producer 20th TV may shop it elsewhere. For Bad Teacher, the cancellation comes only three episodes into its run. The comedy, based on the hit movie, exceeded ratings expectations in its debut but dropped off in Episodes 2 and 3. Still, some thought CBS would wait until after the upfronts to make a decision on its future to give it more time.

For The Crazy Ones, the single-camera comedy never quite fit into CBS’ multi-camera-dominated Thursday comedy block. Creator David E. Kelley pitched a second season, which he would’ve overseen, and CBS brass had been intrigued by the idea of keeping Williams on the air. But, after a very soft first season following a big premiere, a renewal was considered a long shot.

CBS made its biggest ever push in single-camera comedy this past season with We Are Men, The Crazy Ones and Bad Teacher. All three had been cancelled. The two half-hour pilots picked up to series, The Odd Couple and The McCarthys, multi-camera as are all returning CBS comedies, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Millers, Mike & Molly and Mom. It appears that the network’s current foray into single-camera comedy has been short-lived.

Also intriguing is the number of comedy series picked up for next season, 7. That is one short for two two-hour comedy blocks what the network has on this season. Unless there is a last-minute pickup, that means that the network plans to retreat, likely on Thursday where its comedy block expanded to two hours only last fall. That could explain partially the large number of new drama series pickups, though a number of them are expected to do limited runs.

With the cancellation of The Crazy Ones and Friends with Better Lives and no pickup so far for the How I Met Your Mother spinoff How I Met Your Dad, 20th TV may not have a series on CBS for the first time in decades.

NBC’s ‘Dracula’ Cancelled, ‘Parenthood’ Renewal Still On Hold

NBC’s ‘Dracula’ Cancelled, ‘Parenthood’ Renewal Still On Hold

One more piece has fallen into place for NBC‘s schedule next season with the network opting not to bring back vampire drama Dracula for a second season. That leaves us with Parenthood, which is still in a holding pattern for a 13-episode sixth season. The deadline for the actors to agree to a cost-cutting episodic guarantee reduction, that would have them appear in as few as 9 of the final episodes, came and went yesterday afternoon with no agreement reached for some of the key cast members. Things have been mostly quiet since though there is still hope that the beloved family drama will come back for a final chapter.

Both Dracula and Hannibal, which shared the Friday 10 PM slot this season, are produced under a different model that allows for a lower license fee, making them advantageous for NBC. Dracula (1.8) premiered stronger than Hannibal (1.6 in Season 1, 1.1 in Season 2). It lost steam after the solid debut, and there had been some issues with star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who received good reviews, during the shoot. With Hannibal‘s license fee poised to become even more lucrative for Season 3, the network renewed that series.

I didn't think Dracula had much of a shot. I tried to watch a few episodes but never got into it. I didn't like Rhys-Meyers as Dracula, just couldn't pull it off.

Intelligence was disappointing, but I thought they should have paired it with Person of Interest. The Crazy Ones was pretty lame. I never saw Bad Teacher or FWBL but both looked rather meh.

I'd like Parenthood to have a proper send off, but it's like they knew this could be it because that finale could almost work as a series finale.

I kinda thought Dracula was gone. I really liked it and think they did a good job, but I could easily see it as some thing that just appeals to me cause I'm an odd ball. I can see where it wouldn't appeal to the masses.

FWBL has been pretty good. Some meh moments as well, but the wife and I have enjoyed watching it. Perhaps it will find better friends with better lives on another network.

CBS has announced that this season (Season 12) will be the last for 2 and a Half Men!

The twelfth season of Two and a Half Men will be its last. At a press presentation to discuss the network's 2014-15 season, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said, "[showrunner] Chuck Lorre is creating a season-long event. We did very well last year with announcing final season of How I Met You Mother here, too. Chuck is very psyched about this; he's got some great ideas and very big surprises. We know fans and audiences respond to that and that should really give us a nice boost when we launch our new comedy."
