Candance Parker is killing Breanna Stewart

...is that Stewart is playing more minutes than Candace. If you look at "per 40 minutes", the gap between them widens in favor of Candace.

Stewart is going to be a very good WNBA player, but she is not in Candace's league...yet. Stop trying to pretend.

The UConn crying babies are back on the board with their usual crap. Here is what it all amounts to as usual.

th

They are a psychoanalysts dream with all their petty jealousies, fears, and hatred of all things orange.

Guys, it's not UConn's fan fought...They have been indoctrinated like the guy in the Manchurian Candidate...Anytime anything Tennessee is mentioned, they have to respond negatively...Ask them what they think of Rocky Top...

Is this the same Game Time that adamantly used to defend all the UCONN posters on this board????

Only if they were being unnecessarily attacked...I always left a silver bullet (That part may be over your head)...

Yea I may be a little bit too young to understand the "silver bullet" analogy...never heard of it....BTW I've NEVER seen a UCONN poster "unnecessarily" attacked on here...it's always warranted.

I think, don't hold me to it, it is in reference to the Lone Ranger and he would leave a silver bullet....not sure what that meant though or why Gametime is figuratively leaving one. Need more data:).

OK let me put this to rest....

As long as UConn fan conduct themselves like a proper guest, I have no problem with them...Call it my southern hospitality...But, if they act like a horses ass, then they deserve to be chastised....

And yes the silver bullet is a reference to the Lone Ranger...For you youngsters that missed the golden age of television, after the Lone Ranger did a good deed he left a silver bullet as his calling card...The show would often end with the phrase "Who was that masked man? I don't know, but he left this silver bullet." And the fade out was the Lone Ranger and Tonto (his faithful Native American sidekick) riding off to the sounds of the"William Tell Overture."

I spent many an hour in front of the old black-and-white watching the Lone Ranger. I still watch him occasionally on COZI TV.

Jeff, while researching my last post I went to YouTube and got a feel for the old shows of the Lone Ranger...Yes, they may be corny to some, but in those classics good always triumphed over evil, and the good guy never made a big deal about it....When I was a kid I use to wait for the scene for the silver bullet to appear...Man, it was TV magic.

I'd say that Stewart is already a very good WNBA player. And it isn't UConn fans who are comparing the two. I haven't seen a UConn fan anywhere saying she is having a better season than Parker. I will say that some compared the two plater's college record but that is another topic. It's an LV fan that started the thread and LV fans that are making the comparison. Frankly comparing a veteran and past MVP with a rookie in her first pro game is, IMO, picking very low-hanging fruit and is insulting to Parker.

To my way of thinking a more valid and useful comparison would be between Parker and Moore.

I can only speak for myself but it's not the mention of Tenn that causes me to respond, but rather the mention of UConn on this board. There are a lot more posts about UConn here than about Tenn on the CT board. And admittedly, UConn's program is often praised here. I only feel the conditioning of Raymond Shaw kick in when I read comments like "ugly white girl".

I challenge anyone to find a single post here where I attacked the Tenn program with anything close to a troll. This is supposedly an adult message board where truthful comments based on facts are allowed but a few posters seem to think this is Peaksville and only happy thoughts are allowed.

And getting back to the thread topic, Parker has had some great games this year, against Seattle, Chicago and New York, where she averaged 27 ppg. In the rest of LA's wins she has managed but 10.4 ppg. In fact, during her "rampage" through the league this year she is under her career stats as far as scoring. I, however don't measure a player's contribution solely by stats and Parker's assists have been up and her 3pt shooting is way better than earlier in her career so I would put her in the discussion about MVP, even though it's a dubious discussion after less than 10 games.

linkster let me speak to you as an adult, you deserve that.

No one should refer to anyone as an "ugly white girl." I'm assuming they are referring to Stewie, because she is not the most beautiful of women on the outside, but through her interviews, she is a very beautiful person.

These message boards are often hidden agendas for hateful comments by snipers, which is the unfortunate by product of anonymous posting....

The heart of the matter is we LV fans have not had a great deal to cheer about lately like you guys, and we were looking forward to Parker being in the Olympics...To have that taken from us, without a valid reason, has left the population upset. Thus, some chose to strike out in anger, while some of us try and calm the waters with a joke or two..

I have read your board and some of your folks felt the same way about Parker's snub, but you have some of the same type of posters that take joy in Parker, or anything Tennessee getting the shaft. You have to agree on that.

When you add in Geno to the mix, and all the BS that goes on with that subject, it is like burning black powder around here. This is an offended fan base and that really is the bottom line.

Stewie is a fine player and she has done nothing wrong, but this is a LV forum...So if you choose to come here and talk about the glory of Stewie, while our girl is sent packing the reception has to be fuzzy at best...

Now, son, tell me truly....What do you think of the song Rocky Top?

Agree with others, good post.

First, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I realize that the snipes posted here by a handful are not representative of the entire board. And when I respond to one of them I am careful to quote the comment I take exception to and limit my response to that poster.
It is true that the UConn board, which I post on sporadically, has taken some delight in the tribulations of the LV's over the last several years but the mods there have also tossed several long-time posters off the board for perceived attacks on fans of other teams who post opposing POV's. In any case, I feel no responsibility for UConn fans other than myself.
I have read this board almost daily for 2 seasons. This season I have refrained from commenting after losses mainly because LV fans were doing a hell of a job trashing their own team and I wasn't going to put myself in the middle of it. And as a UConn fan who lived through those years when it was the LV's getting all the press and adulation I understand the frustration.

As far as "the glory of Stewie", you have to admit that she was brought up here by LV fans, not myself. I take particular care not to bring UConn to this board but when an LV fan posts either nastiness or blatant lies I feel free to reply. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind but merely providing another POV. Readers can see and decide for themselves.

As far as "Rocky Top", there was a time that hearing it made me mute the TV to keep my blood pressure down. LOL But this might not be what you want to hear but nowadays I enjoy it because while it still reminds me of the time when the LV's ruled wcbb it also serves to remind me that times have changed.

linkster, when I was a boy my grandfather told me if the good Lord let me live long enough, you will see many things change from one direction to the opposite. He stood me on a railroad track that was only one set....He said sometimes the train goes north and sometimes it goes south...It's up to you to have enough good sense to get out of the way when it's not going the way you want it to go.

We're sort of at the train station now hoping the train is going to go our direction for awhile again...We've seen that northbound locomotive do a lot of damage around here..

Now as far as Rocky Top goes son, there is not another song identified with a college that has more pep in it then good ol'e "Rocky Top." When you are at a game, any type of game, and the band starts up, holy cow look out....We all sing as one voice, and it's beautiful man. I get chills thinking about it....If you really want to feel the spirit son, come to Neyland Stadium and listen to 100 thousand strong let loose with the chorus to that song...

You're a good guy linkster...
