Typical Republican response.... Facts are the GOP was in control when the Great Depression started and when the economic slupm we are in now started...

If Bush and the Republicans in Congress had followed Jimmie Johnson lead and turned left a little more we may not be in the mess we are now....

i'm still waiting for your specifics as to how bush ruined the economy.

What about in 2006 when the Democrats gained a majority in the house and senate. Were we in an economic slump then? No. So by your logic, simply stating that the Democrats were in control of the house and senate when the economic slump we are in now started means that they are at fault.

Typical liberal response, sounds very familiar to something one might see on Olbermann. In fact had Bush not been so LIBERAL in spending, or so LIBERAL in the size of his government we might not be in the same boat. Bush was anything but a fiscal conservative, his stances on social issues had no bearing what so ever on the economy......try again.

Wrong.... We wouldn't be in an economic slump if war could pull us out of it.

What I was and am saying is the Great Depression and the economic slump we are in now both happened during Republican leadership.... no one can deny that !!!!

LOL! Wrong..... wrong..... wrong...... you are ever so short sighted.

The footing for the great depression started with Grover Cleveland.

You probably believe that the roots of the Civil War started with Lincoln..... try 1815!

That is my point.... The Republicans proclaim themselves to be fiscal conservative when the facts are when they had control of the White House and Congress, spending was out of control. Bush and the Republicans are not the only reason we are in an economic mess now, however, their spending sure helped us get to where we are now...

As far as Bush's social issues, I agree with probably 90% of them.

Bush made FDR look like Barry Goldwater.

Government is out of control and people want more of it.

Insanity I tell you!

But in your post you said had they turned left more often we may not be in this mess......it seems to me that they turned left too much.

This is the exact reason republicans have been given the boot from office recently. And here the democrats are telling us the republicans have moved too far to the extreme right, which couldn't be further from the truth.

please explain how gov't spending IN THE SHORT TERM hurts the economy. I suggest you take an economics class when you enter your senior year in high school.

Easy, if the Saviour of the Universe had been president during the Bush term and spent like a bafoon, every thing would be fine and he would be defending Flash... I mean Barack Obama.

It is a little interesting that he thinks bush's spending hurt the economy, yet obama's spending will take us out of a recession.

It is quite simple. If you are democrat and spend money it is a good thing.

That 17 billion studying ants in space was well worth the price tag!

Once you can explain the causal link between Republican leadership and the economic situation I'll listen. Until then you simply have spurious association.

Or as Droski said, explain how policy decisions of Republicans lead to the Great Depression and our current economic situation.

Tell us about the wonderful Jimmy Carter years (gas shortages, doubt digit inflation, 20+% interest on loans, etc....) Then compare that to the Reagan years.

Then tell us about the wonderful Vietnam War that Democrats Kennedy and Johnson loved so much.

You guys are making this all harder than it has to be.....

Republican = Bad
Democrat = Good

Of course, as the Right would prefer everyone to be working and successful, whereas the Socialists would prefer everyone work and remain needy for Tammany Hall, er, the dear leader's teat.

The next pro government poster will probably refer to Boss Hogg and act like they don't have the Boss Tweed shrine in their house!

Long live government!

Check out uptowngirl from a Tim Tebow thread in the NCAA forum.

I actually went out with him on one date. Guess what he had.......... A virgin strawberry daiquiri. Hahahahaha that's hilarious. By the way, he's totally full of himself.

Thoughts?

I asked her why she is going out with football players while on government assistance.

:)

Meh, capitalism is a good thing. It's allowed me to launch my own website selling stuff and promote my business so I can't complain. I will not post a link as to not be accused of spamming the board.
