Captain America: The Winter Soldier with just under $185 Million.

Has surpassed Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe highest grossing films of all time. If it has a solid weekend it will be closing in on Thor: The Dark World's $206+ Million.

Just went and saw this, I gotta say it was great. I really enjoyed it. It seemed like a good balance of story vs action. I'm not a comic book nerd, these movies are my 1st exposure to most of the marvel universe. So, I don't have a clue what might be missing or wrong from "books", but as movies I really like this stuff. I think this one might be right up there in the top 2 or 3 of all the comic movies.

There was a ton of Cap/Marvel Easter Eggs for us nerds. From Batroc the Leaper to the upgraded Arnim Zola to name dropping Dr. Strange. They definitely tweaked the Winter Soldier storyline from the comics, most notably the lack of the Red Skull and Cosmic Cube (which of course were both in the first Cap movie and the latter in The Avengers) but it worked within the context of the movie universe they already established.

I look forward to watching it again.

I saw it, high expectations and it was topnotch.
One complaint falcon in his fantastic wings flying freakin undershown.
9.1 out of 10
Great acting, great casting, great story, great climax I think I'll just say the short version it's a masterpiece.
Winter soldier proved to be cap's equal, also easily caught and threw back his shield.

Everything connected there is no scene shown where you feel like this adds nothing to the plot it's unneccessary.

Problem is I saw an article that Evans wanted to stop acting if I recall after this movie move on to other things.

He could be a model, possibly a professional athlete if he has any athletic talent.

He's on for 3 more films (cap 3, Avengers 2-3). He said he wants to go into directing.

Saw it over the weekend with the kids. We all loved it. One of the best of the Thor/IM/Hulk/Avengers group of movies. Will definitely see it again. Don't want to put any spoilers in here, but that scene where he single-handedly takes out that airplane (right after the elevator scene) was awesome.

I loved the elevator scene.

He will end up being Captain America eventually. That's how it was in the comics.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW
(Hey, its been 3 weeks now. Youve been warned)

I really wonder if they go that route. After Avengers 2, Cap 3 will obviosly be the search for the Bucky. Avengers 3 is Evans last movie so they could do Civil War and end with Rogers death. Cap 4 would be Bucky taking over the mantle.

The long term success of the Marvel Movie franchise is interesting. Do they just keep building off each other or will they go back and reboot before Avengers 4? While I enjoyed the Bucky era as Cap in the comics (just as I enjoyed Dick Grayson's run as Batman), Steve Rogers IS Captain America so he will eventually have to come back.

No it's not, and the r word is not something that needs to get used.

Of all the avengers iron man, thor, captain America, the hulk I don't think there is any doubt that captain America in my opinion has the best movies if we're talking quality thor is a close second.

ok so the 2 post-scenes, one of them was the guy at pyramids, what was the other?

also, I couldn't figure out why Garry Shandling looked so familiar, then it hit me that he was the guy going head to head with Tony Stark in the congressional hearing, so that was a cool connection

Are you sure you've got the right movie? There were no pyramids at the end of Capt. America 2.

There's a distinct possibility that it was at the end of Thor...I saw both within like 4 days of each other last week and, since I never read comic books, I didn't make a direct connection to what was happening in those scenes.

Which were the 2 scenes in Cap? I thought the mid-credit scene was Bucky and the after-credit scene was a guy in the past moving stuff around like pyramids and stuff

or was that the one with the twins

I don't remember anymore

X-Men was the pyramids.

I believe Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were at the end of Cap. Thor was the Collector(?).

Pyramid scene was X-Men.

Cap had the mid credit scene with Baron Zemo and "the twins" (quicksilver and Scarlet Witch). Then the Bucky scene at the end.

so many marvel movies watched at the same time lead to an inevitable "wait which one did that happen in?"
