Hey Mikey, just out of curiosity, what is your fascination with Sarge?

Don't get him started, you will be in for a long day.

How is work Mikey, How's your team doing? Haven't heard from you in a while.

It is just that it seems a litle odd. Instead contributing to the board he just rags on Sarge. Not saying he does not have the right, just that I would think life is too short to be so uptight about an anonymous poster on an internet forum that just has differing opinions about things.

"And I thought my offense was weak. I feel so sorry for the Volunteer fans that drove all the way down here for THIS display of UT offensive ineptitude."

Well done LG. How about this one. "If I only had RS to help me call the plays."

Doing well thanks...lost 1...had to get away for a while...I can only take so much lunacy from people who don't know anything before I have to step away. For whomever asked...my fascination with sarge lies in the fact that Randy is a friend of mine. Regardless of how he's done this or any year I just can't handle the barrage of insults from people like sarge who don't know anything about football. Do I think this has been a banner year for the Vols...of course not...do I think the offensive staff has done a bang up job...of course not...if you asked Randy in private would he say the same thing...of course he would. The problem is that sarge and his fellow slapnuts, who just want to run everybody out of town, can't do anything but quote stats. They don't understand the intricacies of offensive football. Are the guys at the top ultimately responsible...sure they are...but you can't have the attitude of "we underachieved...fire them all" or you end up with a program that looks a lot like the men's basketball program. It has no identity because there is no one with whom to identify it. It's the same attitude we in America have about a lot of things these days. Bad year in your marriage...divorce them. Bad year at work...quit. I've said it before and I'll say it again...in real estate it is all about location, location, location. In college athletics it's all about consistency, consistency, consistency.

Problem is you are taking these posts personally, and you shouldn't. People are posting because we have constitently, consistently, consistently performed inconsistently with Randy at the helm. My hope is that he turns it around, and last year was a bright spot, but those have been few and far between.

I understand you are a coach, but there are many people on this board that also know a great deal about football, and even though we did not choose that career path, many in fact were perfectly qualified to do so. I am sorry that you feel as though you are being attacked along with RS, but I sincerely believe none of this is personal. Criticism, as you know comes with the glamour of being OC at UT.

Hey Chris, do you put the "heads side" or the "tails side" toward your forehead to get it to stick?

First...I'm sure many people on here were qualified to become coaches (although sarge has proven repeatedly with his posts that he's not one of them.) However...as my dad told me before I actually started coaching..."forget everything you think you know because 90% of what I know now I learned since I started coaching." It's really a situation where you don't know what you don't know until you actually coach for a decade or so. As far as taking things personally...I'm not. Just dishing sarge's bull back at him.

Good enough for me. I do not much agree with the extent to which some blame Sanders (But I do for alot of things and Fulmer to the point where he is not faster pulling the trigger on personnel changes and not just RS)

Do I think it is time RS go, Yes. Do I know what I am talking about? - probably not, but that is my opinion. Some changes need to be initiated in the coaching ranks else the slipperly slope of mediocrity will be too much for UT to be able to reverse its current direction (Which is down at the moment).

When it comes down to it CPF is ultimately responsible. I am sure that is in his job description.

The mentality that some folks have to win them all, all the time or fire the coach would have fired Bear Bryant at Alabama after having back-to-back seasons of 6-5 and 6-5-1. He then went on to win 9 SEC Championships in the next 11 seasons, while winning 88% of his games and 3 national championships.
