Carolina at Duke predictions

well obviously I got you uppity because of a point I made about BC. Besides, I never said Duke was the better team, all I said is there is a chance, whatever that may be that Duke can win at Dean just like BC's chance or any other team for that matter because of UNC's defense, which allows for so many points, all that needs to happen is for that one player to light it up on any team and UNC falls. It's not rocket science.

Only one of us is being unreasonably abrasive here...

But I'll give it to you....Duke has a chance next time....by no means are they a horrible team...they're just too one dimensional...and that one dimension(the 3 point shot) is too low percentage to hang you're hat on...

If I were a Duke fan I'd feel alot better if that one dimension was a solid inside game rather than the 3 point shot

I'm not the one that is trying to knock someone, not once have you tried to do it now, but twice. If you want to make a point, make it through the arguments of the teams and the games...not trying to make personal attacks along with it will go a long way in getting your point across. Try it sometime.

Duke is primarily a jump shooting team. When the jumpers fall, they win. At the end of the game (or season), when the legs start to go, those jumpers usually stop falling and the patented Feb/March Duke collapse begins. Duke has talent, a HOF coach, and a tough conference schedule. Where they are lacking is in recruiting. I bet that changes soon. The fact that they are making a play for John Wall (won't happen) at least shows that they recognize a change needs to be made in who they recruit.

Jesus Christ you're touchy this morning...if you think those were shots I was taking at you or Duke then I would hate to see you're reaction if I really stated my personnal feelings about Duke...

And I've posted several times in this thread what I thought about the UNC/Duke matchup from a pure basketball standpoint...you're just too angry about last nights results to see past anything you can even construe as a jab

Very big valid points, Duke is recruiting too many small guys which is making their inside game lack tremendously. The turn around will happen at some point, I just hope sooner than later.

Haha, actually the opposite, I'm not taking anything you say personally, but I'm not taking anything you say as valid points either when you try and add Jabs, what is that helping you out with? What is the point of trying to say I'm being petty or abrasive? Does that make your point stronger? No. I'm not angry at all last nights reaction, it is just a game dude, Duke lost fair and square. Just like Unc lost fair and square to BC.

They definitely need to change the type of players they recruit...or at least put more emphasis on finding true post players...

I never understood that...Duke historically is at their best when they have a strong low post presense...but lately they've recruited two types of players....1.) Tall, lanky PF's who prefer to stay on the perimeter and 2.) Guards who are good shooters and have the ability to penetrate and kick it out(not really finishers you know)

If Duke could find a couple of guys to play in the post then that would be the perfect compliment to their current players...but if they don't then they're just going to continue to fade down the stretch like you said

K recruits to a certain profile. He always has with very few exceptions. You can only have so many "nice" white choir boys from two parent households before it starts to really affect your program. I know he loves the Singler, Paulus, Scheyer, Collins, Wojo profile, but he needs to take a few more risks and go after some more Magettes, Averys and Brands.

Whew... nice to see the Heels test the 3rd-digit on Duke's scoreboard.

The season finale at Chapel Hill should be another classic.

Go Heels!

That fact that it is Duke - and not an average BC team - really means it isn't going to happen. I don't think it will take much for the players to get up for the rematch. BC on the other hand...

Let's just hope Singler didn't injure his shooting elbow on that play. It appeared he was making a very natural gesture after hustling to get the ball, and Hansbrough had to try to stop it with his cheek bone.

Looks like it was Hansbrough. Another Duke cheapshot.

He was trying to rip the ball out of the pile. It was obviously a matter of wrong place wrong time. No way it was intentional. The shot of Hansbrough looking around pinching the skin on his cheek was almost comical.

after watching the replay you think it was intentional?

It was a totally natural, unintentional thing to do after the ref blew the whistle. Just like this totally unintentional nipple grab running back down the court after a made basket -- and Nichols' reaction is almost comical too:

While Henderson flops, Kyle Singler gives out a purple nurple - The Dagger - NCAA Hoops - Rivals.com

It is not all that rare to see a little action after the whistle in situations like that.

The nipple grab and this incident hardly fall under the same category though. The push back was justified after the shoulder Henderson threw into the guys back. Both should have been called as fouls IMO.

Keep this in mind i have no dog in the hunt, I care nothing for either of these teams.

C'mon Brian! Laettner said he was sorry for the stomp and shot!

Laettner's most famous and infamous moments, all in a 10 minute span. After that he just faded off into obscurity somewhere in Minnie-soda where he could practice his openly flamboyant lifestyle.
