I agree with many other posters’ thoughts already posted. Both teams are bad, and they are particularly bad within the context of these two programs. Duke won tonight’s game because of Lively’s defensive presence on the inside. While I will congratulate Duke on the win tonight, they were nothing more than the prettiest pig at the trough. I’m trying to remember the last time I saw a Carolina/Duke matchup when both teams were this bad at the same time, but I’m not sure there has been one in the last 35+ years.

I also don’t see any improvement in Carolina over the course of the season so far. Today’s performance looked no better than the wretched games they were playing in November when I correctly predicted in this thread that they would lose to the first team they played that showed any sign of a pulse.

I just want Caleb Love to leave. I’m sure his difficult shot selection scares UNC fans too, then he has stretches where he seems to make 65% of them

It seems much more likely that there will be four teams seeded fourth or worse in the Final Four than there be even two #1 seeds.

If Duke goes down to Miami tonight and gets a W, my opinion will change from Duke being a first weekend team to a second weekend team.

You probably won't believe this, but I was not aware that Dook ever lost in the first round under Ratface ahem, Coack K.

Dook is probably a Round 3 loser this year, while UNC will be lucky to survive Thursday/Friday of the first weekend.

College BB is so weak this year, if a team in the top 20 gets moderately hot, they could easily win it all. I am hoping Barnes somehow shakes his March curse off and this is Tennessee's year.

Could happen.

At this point, I think UNC is quickly becoming a long shot to even get into the NCAA tournament.

I’m surprised. Most UNC fans I know love to bring up Lehigh and Mercer.

Today I looked at a few potential brackets. Every one had UNC as one of the last 4 in. Duke was either 7,8 or 9. Hard to take those seriously after the Heels were pretty much in the exact same position last year.

The problem for UNC is that there are a lot of games left to play before the tournament. The way they are playing (and not showing improvement), that will equate to a lot more losses between now and the announcement of the tournament brackets.

I’m hearing that there’s a lot of chemistry issues going on. Namely between the two guards.

This was my post about Carolina back on Nov 15, so I have no problem believing your comment about chemistry issues. They’ve been there since the beginning of the season. I also don’t think it’s strictly limited to their guards.

Great bounce back game for Carolina. That's the way they should look moving forward. A complete game on both ends of the ball. Leaky Black is one of the best defenders I've seen,and Bacot is Bacot. They just need to stay consistent.

Don’t count on it. They’re not even consistent from one half to the next. This year’s Carolina team is one of the most frustrating teams they’ve had in a long time.

Duke is awful. And Filipowski can’t get drafted soon enough. Ts and Ps to whatever team makes that decision. Just hope whoever it isn’t the same NFL city that drafts Levis
