No go on Jack Del Rio... This is getting interesting. What did Pete leave behind at USC??

That's not interesting. That's a NFL coaching deciding to keep his NFL job.

The guys who have said no are a NFL head coach and a guy who apparently grew up in the city he's currently working. Not sure why this is surprising.

Its the alma mater of fisher and del rio. I can understand why Fisher didn't budge, but JDR is surprising to me. Its arguably one of the best college coaching gigs. Sark didn't bite.. Riley couldve elevated his career. Would they be getting turned down by their candidates if there wasn't the dark cloud of the NCAA over them?

No one knows who've they contacted directly or indirectly, but I've only heard Riley, Del Rio, and Fisher who I failed to mention. Sarkisian turning it down would surprise me; his name is still mentioned in the LA press.

People turn down the supposedly "better" job all the time, in many fields. It reminds me of the Gran situation, where a handful of posters freaked out thinking this automatically meant the death penalty was coming to Knoxville. That could certainly be the case at SC, but I don't see those 3 turning down the job as a clear sign that SC's getting pounded by the NCAA. I see more as 3 guys either understandably happy with where they are or staying with a job that 32 guys on the planet manage to have.

Petey is building a good staff: Alex Gibbs, Dewayne Walker, Ken Norton Jr, Pat Ruel, Jeremy Bates.
