Casey Anthony - The Decision Is In!

There just wasn't enough evidence to show that Casey killed her. Without establishing how or when she died, the prosecution really just never had a prayer.

Not sure where you are in your studies, but at some point in your law career you likely will either stop trying to explain law matters to people who don't want to understand them or become a regular contributor on CNN who doesn't actually practice.

Just the opinion of somebody who did the former...

Don't be using words like preponderance and circumstantial on a guy that wouldn't know sheepskin from alligator foreskin.

You're right I wouldn't know either. I bet you're an expert on sheep for sure.

It's circumstantial. You can't tie it all together when you can't prove how or when the victim died. There might have been enough to get her with a preponderance of the evidence standard, but it wasn't even close to proving it beyond a reasonable doubt. And, that wasn't the discussion in the post you quoted.

Succinctly put... Didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to the trial, but I did watch all closing arguments over the last few days and never got the feeling the prosecution had enough to put murder on her.

Do I feel, deep down, that she did it? Yeah. But the legal system worked today. When somebody gets accused of murder, it's then on the state to follow an extremely time-tested set of standards and prove that murder occurred. The prosecution didn't prove anything aside from the misdemeanor charges.

If people want to be mad at something, they shouldn't be mad at the jury and the verdict- they should be mad at the prosecution. Even then, this was an instance where they didn't seem to have much to go on.

Nope. As somebody mentioned, if given the choice between setting a murderer free or locking up an innocent person, I will choose the former every time.

Too bad being a complete piece of garbage isn't against the law. Because regardless of whether she did it or not (and let's be honest she did) she's still a sociopathic piece of trash.

Maybe she wil write a hypothetical book on what she would have done.

She'll be looking over her shoulder everywhere she goes for the rest of her life. Her attorneys may have saved her life, but they can't change public opinion.

Shockingly, sheepskin was lost on you. Maybe the foreskin rang a bell? They teach about that in HS biology, no?

I understand everyone's point in this. I simply get frustrated when there is a notable difference between the justice system "working" and justice being served.

Sorry for going off the handle and to anyone I might have said something cross about. Child killers, rapists and abusers are the thing that set me off more than anything in the world.

Do you know how the baby died?

Were you sitting in the courtroom when each side was presented?

Are you basing this opinion on hearsay from what you saw on Nancy Grace?

If you have great lawyers you can get off with most anything.

Do you honestly think she knew nothing about where her child was for a month? Lies upon lies equals guilt no matter how you look at it. To not even be charged with any type of child abuse or endangerment is a joke.

Lying is prison worthy?

In court it's not what you know, it's what you can prove. They couldn't prove how or when she died. No matter what we think we "know" the prosecution failed to prove it so they lost

Yup and you believe OJ's defense too don't you? If it was an accident then why was the body found in the woods? Why did she play games with the police for so long?
