Casey Anthony - The Decision Is In!

Can't believe she will essentially walk free.....I was surprised she wasn't found guilty of the lesser charges. And yes I do think she killed her...

Do you know how the baby died?

Were you sitting in the courtroom when each side was presented?

Are you basing this opinion on hearsay from what you saw on Nancy Grace?
The fast food analysis of our judicial system is easily the worst thing cable news has brought us.

The state did a piss poor job of prosecuting the whole thing and now they're screwed because if something new comes up they can't do a damn thing about it.

Based on the very little I know about this case, I would say that in the very least she should get charged with covering the death up, child-abuse, providing false information.

She sure has a guilty look and way about her, I believe she did it.

Wonder what Cal Lightman would say?

I guarentee there will be people in the jurors lives that never look at them the same way.

It's just like the OJ trial, in your heart you know the bastard did it or at least played a part.

Have any of you ever sat on a jury in a capital case? I have. It's an excruciating process.

No they shouldn't. They made the right call.

Based on evidence, you can probably come up with resonable doubt in almost any case.

Without audio/video/DNA, you could come up with some scenario that makes at least enough sense to create resonable doubt, no?

Like I said, the b**** has guilty written all over her.

It is sad to scroll down my facebook news feed and see all the status updates from folks who clearly have no clue how the legal system in this country works, and further can't even begin to comprehend how far superior it is to any other any where in the world.

A lot of credit should be given to the defense team in this case. They had the near impossible task of defending a hideous person whom the entire country had decided was guilty years ago.

Casey Anthony could have killed her daughter. But she might not have. The jury thought the state didn't prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, and by deliberating for only 10 hours I doubt it was even very close.

As a lawyer you are taught that the jury is the ultimate wildcard. You are taught that they are the dumbest 12 people in town. You have to respect what they decide though, that is the beauty of our criminal justice system.

So for everyone who is upset about this verdict, GET OVER IT. The attorneys for the defense did their job, and the state couldn't show cause of death. The jury's function is to weigh the evidence, and they have.

Thank goodness people aren't tried by the media.

No, you can't come up with reasonable doubt in every case. In fact, DNA is used in less than 1% of criminal cases. But when the prosecution can't establish very basic facts, reasonable doubt exists.

Or common sense.

I'm just saying that unless there is 100% proof such as those things couldn't you make up some story like she did?

I don't know.

It's very hard for me to believe that she didn't play a hand in it.
