This makes sense to me. With a new coach at a dumpster-fire program, it doesn't hurt UNC to take a chance on a talent like Harris. We can't afford to lose a kid to academics.

We got screwed when Dooley was under recruiting and our roster wasn’t even full. Then we got screwed by Lyle not developing or misusing talent plus injuries. Now we gotta catch up for all this BS. 2021 we will be getting whole again. Of course if we haven’t won the NC by then the dummies will start the “off with his head chants” and we will start over probably.....I need an OC hire and a boom ...getting pessimistic.

People with diplomas tend think plumbers, mechanics, and welders are somehow beneath them because they sacrificed 4-8 years in college getting their masters in history and get pissed when they find out where their plumber lives and what he/she drives.

Possibly, there's a lot of good corners in the country and a lot of good ones that will be coming out of high school over the next couple of years

Recruits either have the core GPA after fall semester or they need spring/summer grades to qualify. If they're not full qualifiers now, they're not going to be by NSD unless they're finishing up an online class in the next few weeks.

Yeah that’s what I said. You take 3 this year, that’s 3 off next years 25. Then do it next year and so forth. It’s credit card recruiting. Gotta pay that bill. The players you generally get going this route are either kids that graduated and aren’t starters or kids that you haven’t officially recruited...how many Crouch’s and Wright’s in that group? Last year Bama took 20 this year 46. Restraint kicks ass in recruiting.

The grades thing is a big part of it sure, but UNC has some really good recruiters there now.

It seems like our coaches are focused on using that spot on someone they know 100% will qualify and UNC is on him heavy to flip.

Both of those things lead me to believe he will not sign here.

Makes sense for sure, just checking. I hate that that's how it's probably going to play out, I was hoping to land this kid to pair with Tank at Safety, was hoping it would possibly be like an Earl Thomas-Cam Chancellor pairing which would've been sweet

Basically we’ve held him off due to grades and that’s let UNC in the door, along with Hardesty leaving. He also has a teammate going to UNC and is getting a lot of pressure to flip. Supposedly still visiting both.

I was also under the impression that before ESD we had discussed that the grades had been worked out because they caught it early enough. but now that he is looking at UNC we are back to thinking he can't skool.

We would still take him and held a helluva player. UNC can gamble more because their class sucks honestly. Pickens is a difference maker as a WR, a true freak. Doubt he qualifies and will be placed. Maybe we are hoping to be the ones that place him. Don’t know
