CBJ is fired up about spring practice!!!!!

Which completely missed the entire point of my post. The man's feet are already in the fire by nature of wanting to successfully hang on to his multi-million dollar paycheck and establish a legacy, and I fully expect VN to hold him accountable for his performance...where performance can be clearly quantified...on the field.

But the constant drone of negative assumptions breeds negative results. And no, I'm not proggy liberal talking about universal one-ness crap. I'm an approaching 50 conservative businessman that has seen first hand what a positive attitude does to build success and what a negative attitude does to destroy it. Many on VN tear down...constantly...under the guise of holding the coach accountable. We really need to grow up here. Were I a mod, I would not be nearly as accommodating of some of the bad attitudes in this place. It isn't helpful and it isn't constructive.

And another good post. Reason and rationale tend to escape some people.

Wish our fans would show out to the O/W game this year. By show out I'm not talking about the annual 30k. We need to show up in force. But that won't happen. As our fans talk a good game, we'll simply get outdone by other SEC fanbases.

Reads like a loser post to me!

Anyone know if spring practice is all open to the public?

Chris Low didn't give any guarantee last week on 104.5, but made it sound like it would be open to the media at least. I haven't heard anything about general public being able to watch.

Well Said! :hi:

Coach speak. And he had better be up to the challenge as itis a prerequisite for saying yes, I will take the job. He looks good, talks good and wants to be here. He has the makings of a great man. We all hope he is will be our great coach.

Yes, it is coaches talk!!! CBJ knows that the fans were a part of the reason that Fulmer & Dooley were run out of town.

He also knows that he needs time to re build this program. If the fans get discouraged, then he could be run out of town.

So, all of this "rah, rah" is him trying to win the fans over BEFORE the losing starts... What I mean by that is that we will surely have some ugly loses before we can jell together and really start to win. In the meanwhile, he needs to buy time...

If he can post a winning season next season by winning all of the games that we are supposed to win and then sneak out one win that we are not favored to win, then people will begin to believe. Then the recruits will start to line up to come to U.T. and the fans will fill every seat in the stadium at both home and away games.

In the meanwhile, he has to get people fired up and get people to believe in him, until we can show results on the field.

He is basically saying "Be patient, believe in us, we will win, eventually"

With players that Brian Kelly recruited and coached, prior to CBJ taking the job....

CBJ's recruiting was actually better than Kelly's so BZZZ...wrong answer! Also...if you think any coach can just walk in and keep it going after a successful coach leaves then you are ignorant. There are numerous examples where the new coach fails miserably.

love your posts, we need more people like you teaching our children. I see so many kids slip thru and noone care, thanks for caring.

Sadly, the students I get are for the most part the kids no one cared about. I am in Adult Education. The biggest majority are between 18 - 24, although many are older than that.

They have had it implanted in their minds for many years that they are failures, and they come in expecting to fail again. The way I do things is often considered unorthadox and politically incorrect. Personally, I think what happened to these young men and women growing up was a travesty, and you have to use any means necessary to get through to them, even if it is considered unorthadox.

The look on their faces when they succeed at something, no matter how small, is worth it's weight in gold. The look on their faces when they realize they can actually finish school is priceless.

Not trying to pump your tires but we need more guys like you, more of those with your mentality. Education in general, outcomes based education in particular, had gone off the rails too often, IMHO.

Thanks my friend. No pumping required. I love what I do, which is really funny, considering I went into teaching kicking and screaming. I got orders to be a teacher in the military and only went because I had to. Fell in love with it and the rest is history. :)

Brian Kelly didn't recruit at cincy. Butch didn't have good line depth until his second year. Butch did the development, and I care a lot more about that. Not who recruited them.

Ahh... Now it all comes together, military guy. God bless you brother. Glad you're doing what you love, but you could take that sarcastic wit on the road and kill. Just sayin...
