Good news. Sounds like that's the first step for Howard. Hopefully he can do what he needs to do to be a part of the team this fall.

Very big for the depth of our receiving core. Pig can bring back the explosion we all know he has, but more than that he will make it harder for other receivers(Pearson,Malone) to get on the field until they are ready. He was our most consistent Wr last year i do expect North to take that role this year. WRU

Butch handled this the right way.

When a player makes a mistake you make them earn the right to come back - you don't give them anything!

The rest of the team is watching and learning.

Glad to hear he is back! Will add real depth to our WR corp. WRU is on the way. I don't see him unseating Pearson though but he will make a real contribution.

Except that we REALLY have the need to know every detail regardless of University of TENNESSEE privacy rules and that HIPPO stuff that those people doctors talk about.

Well said. Glad to get Pig back. He'll add good quality depth at slot behind Pearson.

Not sure Pig should be out of the lineup completely unless Von is a CP type freak.

Von is a bigger, faster, more dynamic player than Pig. Pig missed all of Spring and IMO will find himself starting at the bottom of the depth chart due to his "indiscretions" leading him to not be a part of the team this offseason. Finally, Pig is a good player, not a great player. Some have said he was the best WR on last year's team....that's kinda like being the smartest kid in summer school IMO. He can definitely help the receiving corps this year, help Azzani get to his goal of rotating 8-9 WRs .... but unless something catastrophic happens to Pearson, there's no way Pig starts at slot.

Well then if hope he finds a role to contribute often.

I certainly think he will contribute as Azzani wants 8-9 WRs rotating and he would certainly be one of those....but I just can't see him pushing ahead of Pearson. Jmo.

This is great news!

I don't see how CBJ can keep him off the field, but where does he fit now? It appears the Pearson is our slot receiver based on his performance this spring. Last year, Pig had to be an all-over-the-field type threat, specifically short and mid range passing situations (of course occasionally the deep ball as well), but he seemed to be out of his element to a degree in some passing situations. I seem to remember his freshman year he was the screen pass play-maker. Dump it off and watch the magic happen. Does anyone else see him taking on a role to similar to that of his freshman year or Devrin Young's role last season? Short yardage, passing downs where we need a big play. That's just sort of how I see him contributing. I hope that makes some sense. Started to ramble a bit. Still am. GBO!

Pig will be on the field and Pig missing spring isn't that big of a deal. He hasn't forgot how to play football. It's not like he is a freshman and has never been through spring ball. VP still has to prove himself on the field and in the SEC. Pig already has. Pig may not start but he will be on the field in the 1st game.
I think VP has potential to be good but I think you see him and think he is going to be another CP. Don't count Pig out.
