I was just watching some footage of UC's season last year, and I remember watching most of their bowl game against Duke. THAT IS A WELL-COACHED TEAM!

Have to admit, I wasn't too enthusiastic when they first announced that he would be the new HC, but I came to realize that he's far more qualified than either Kiffin or Dooley. His teams aren't the biggest and don't have the most talent, but they play like they do.

Just watched some highlights of their game against Pitt. They simply smashed Pitt. For a little perspective....Notre Dame came within the length of a frog hair of getting beat by Pitt...and they somehow end up in the NC game.

The Bearcats nearly beat Louisville....who by the way beat them Gators....handily, in their bowl game. UC also beat Virginia Tech. Duke had their best season in a LONG time, last year, and the Bearcats beat them with a depleted coaching staff.

They simply won't quit, aren't scared of much bigger programs/higher ranked teams and they play beyond their own personal ability. Attributes our team has lacked for the longest.

I'm pretty pumped about this upcoming season, and am confident that a lot of teams, pundits and fans are going to be shocked at times.

I think CBJ was poised to take Cincy to an 11 win or greater season this year. It will be interesting to see how they finish under Tuberville.

Also, his 12-2 season at Central Michigan is really impressive. He beat Michigan State that year in East Lansing and had CMU in the top 25 to finish out the season.

My beef has always been with those who constantly bashed those of us who had no confidence in Dooley. He was never qualified to even be on the list, during that coaching search. Kevin Sumlin interviewed and wanted the job...and like CBJ was, he didn't carry a lot of sizzle at the time. But he had a winning resume, and got his team to overachieve.

I simply wanted Dooley on a shorter leash than coaches like CBJ, and Sumlin, who have a good record coming in.

they were good by big east standards.

Well, they were a big east team. Saban performed well in the Big 10 with Mich St. (we don't need to point out his accolades,really..please don't). Patrino with Louisville in the Big east, did pretty well at Arkansas. Myer coached Bowling Green and Utah, The "Bear" coached at Maryland and and TA&M, Johnny Majors -Pitt. There is a pretty good list of coaches that started in other conferences, had success, came to the SEC and are now held in pretty high esteem. (as football coaches, I wont even attempt to speak to the moral character of a couple).

For some reason I cant explain, I just get the feeling (maybe its just orange colored hope) that CBJ will be in that group.

How do you suppose we would react IF our Vols were pretty good this year as an SEC team in the SEC? I dunno...say we get 7-8 wins, is that good by SEC standards for a first year coach?

I really don't get the comment...sorry.

While I agree whole heartedly that I think CBJ is gonna do a great job at UT. But, almost winning doesn't really count for anything. Our beloved Vols almost beat Georgia, South Carolina, and Missouri. They played well against Florida and Mississippi State, however, when it counted they didn't get it done. So, it's not who you almost beat. The only thing that matters it who you do beat. That was one of the biggest knocks against CDD and Bray. Neither of them could win a close game when they needed too.

CBJ beat Lousivllle 2 of the 3 times he faced them.

it wasn't a put down.i was just saying that the big east was and is the weakest conference.butch did great with the talent he had and I do believe a roster of sec players will show what kind of coach he truly is.much respect for butch.no respect for the big east.

volsornuttin,i know Louisville beat florida but if that game is played during the season.florida wins that game.no respect for florida but if that game is played 9 more times.florida is 9 and 1.

I'll go one better.if butch has a team of sec players that played as hard as his cincy team.we will be winning a lot of games in the near future.:good!:

I don't think this Cincinnati team will like Tubbs too much.
