CBS' Jerry Palm says #Vols need to beat Florida or Kentucky

He's been more accurate the last 3 years, which seems to coincide with ESPN's inside look with the selection committee.

If we Beat the Mo Tigers handily, and don't bomb the SEC Tourney, I think we are in. Why wouldn't we be- unless there are many upsets in the league tournaments. If we cant get Bruce back- let it be. No good coach will want to come here if CM gets fired after making the Big Dance. Let it be w/o BP coming back. whadda youse guys think? PS- maybe the kids have decided to play all-out from now on to help CM and their pro-stock? Could be.

Would you rather make the tournament, lose first round and keep Martin or not make the tournament and fire Martin guaranteed? I have no opinion one way or the other but it seems like this is how the basketball fan base is divided.

You never want to pull against the Vols- no matter how many times they have let us down ( and themselves) There are many other inconsistent teams- see Ky, Duke, Cuse, not just us.

Quick reminder. If i did my math correctly and we beat Mizzou on saturday, Florida will have to play LSU/Mizzou before they would play us which isnt exactly an easy game. Especially when you are pretty much a lock in at a 1 seed.

We really need to worry about beating Missouri on Saturday, and after our game hope LSU lays the wood to Georgia so we can get the tie-breaker for the 3 seed much favorable side of the bracket IMO

That's not a reach, both could happen.

GO LSU beat UGA this weekend. If we were to win Sat that would make us the three seed and likely help us avoid Ark and Florida to the finals who are playing the best besides us in the league right now.

Still 2nd team out by Palm, but he has Missouri in. We win Saturday and we are probably in every bracket on the matrix.

if joe says your in - your in - if your in you at least have a chance - if we can get some guys hot we have the ability to make a little run in the tourney - be fun to watch

Lunardi ranked #35 among bracketologists on the 8 year average. The most accurate of them has us and Missouri currently in the play-in game. Which to me says Missouri is a must win, but a bad loss in the SEC or any conference upsets could still keep us out.

Of the major media outlets, USA Today ranked highest, at #3 overall, it has us in the last 5 out as of this morning. It also has Missouri out.

What ranking is this? The top ranked bracketologist on the Matrix has us in as an 11 seed

yep. would be big for us.

and instead we'd potentially get to face a struggling UK team, who nevertheless would be considered a very quality win.

The bracket project site ranked something like 100 of them for the last 8 years. #1 on there has us in the play-in game, which is the #11 seed.

That's kinda what he's saying.

None of them are gonna say anything earth shattering or that they can be held to, especially Palm. In other words, you won't hear him say "if the Vols wins Saturday, and 2 in the SECT they're pretty much a lock". He will just maintain, you wanna be safe as a bubble team, win your conference tourney.

I want the Vols to win no matter what. I don't care who is coaching. It will all take care of itself no matter how this plays out. Win and CCM stays. Lose and the #BBB (or insert other coach here) fire just gets hotter. Next year will be tough no matter who is at the helm.

GO VOLS!!!
