CBS Playoff Projections

100% agree, but I do remember '22...both 10-2 (UT beat Bama), and Bama finished #6 (Sugar Bowl) & UT #7 (Orange Bowl).
Bama finished the season with their starting QB. The reigning Heisman winner. Their two losses were at Neyland and Death Valley by a combined 4 points on two last second plays. We got ambushed in Columbia by 25 points and lost our QB. I've personally never been really angry that they ranked them 1 spot ahead of us at the end.

I'm not either bc I understand why they did. I'm just saying that we can't assume that if we both end up 10-2 that we're in bc of H2H.

Unfortunately this is true. I don’t know if we make it in if we lose to UGA and then win out. Our SOS looks extremely weak now.
My biggest fear is that it comes down to a 10-2 Tennessee and 11-1 Indiana. Indiana’s best wins would be Nebraska and Michigan. But I know there would be a massive push to get an 11-1 B10 team into the playoffs.

True. With their starting QB out, maybe it’s possible they slip up and lose 2 games but if they do go 11-1, I can’t see us getting in over them if we go 10-2.

Don’t think Jerry has thought this through in his prediction. If Texas A&M is the 11 seed and Texas is the #6 then that has to mean that Texas beat A&M last game of the year giving A&M two losses. I guess he thinks a Tennessee loss to presumably Georgia and Arkansas on the road is worse than a home losses to notre dame and Texas for A&M. Granted preseason he picked A&M to make the playoffs so I guess he is riding with them.
We do need A&M and LSU to start losing some games though or Texas to lose two more.

He picked A&M with a first year coach?

I'd be OK with Gump curb stomping Mizzou and then losing to LSU. Actually that is what I am hoping for.

More likely, it'll come down us vs 10-2 Texas. If we play UGA closer in Week 10 than Texas did and Texas loses in Week 12 at College Station, we're in.

The BIg 10 could mathematically have 4 one loss teams. As a matter of fact its not a stretch.

If Tennessee beats GA we are in the SECCG and in the Playoffs. If Tennessee loses to GA we are only in the playoffs. Let's heal up and get ready for Kentucky, and get our offense blasting off again.

Bama is projected in at 10-2 but Tennessee now must beat Georgia to make it in. How does that make sense?

”I have said all along that Tennessee would have to beat either Alabama or Georgia to earn a CFP berth, but with Texas A&M still in play, the Volunteers may very well have to beat Georgia when they travel to Athens on Nov. 16. We should have a better idea whether that is must-win for the Vols by then.”

Texas A&M struggled against MISS ST. They will drop a game to South Carolina and LSU. I actually think they may beat Texas. I’m not buying the hype yet.

That's just dumb, yes Texas A&M is still technically in it but they won't be after Saturday. There will be a bunch of SEC teams with two losses so we will see what happens
