That’s a tough ask….We should put our hatred aside (temporarily) and pull for Florida the remainder of season.
They can actually be the spoiler in the whole thing, and they looked very good against KY.
Also, fighting for their coaches job can motivate them.
FL plays 4 of who we need them to beat.
GA Home
@ TX
LSU Home
OleMs Home
Don’t think Jerry has thought this through in his prediction. If Texas A&M is the 11 seed and Texas is the #6 then that has to mean that Texas beat A&M last game of the year giving A&M two losses. I guess he thinks a Tennessee loss to presumably Georgia and Arkansas on the road is worse than a home losses to notre dame and Texas for A&M. Granted preseason he picked A&M to make the playoffs so I guess he is riding with them.
We do need A&M and LSU to start losing some games though or Texas to lose two more.
There are two obvious scenarios in which Tennessee is a lock for the playoffs. The first is winning out, including the SEC title game, which would guarantee a playoff spot. The second is winning the remaining regular-season games. Even if Tennessee lost the conference title game, they would still get in at 11-2. If they finish 11-1 but miss the title game, they would still be a lock to make the playoffs.I don’t pretend to know any scenario that will guarantee us a playoff spot. But I do know for a fact, if we lose to anyone besides Georgia we are toast as far as playoffs are concerned. Better take this one game at a time and it will thin down the possibilities as the season goes along. Hope the team concentrates on the off week of getting better and getting healthy. We have a good shot at the playoffs, so hop on and enjoy the ride. Go Vols! Beat Kentucky!
Unfortunately this is true. I don’t know if we make it in if we lose to UGA and then win out. Our SOS looks extremely weak now.Think it’s the fact our schedule looks weaker and weaker by the day. NC State and Oklahoma are no longer considered quality wins even though they were ranked opponents when the games were played. At this point, our loss to Arkansas is unexplainable. In reality, our resume isn’t stacking up the way we would have expected.
