CBS Preseason win predictions

I don't see Bama being that much better than last season. While Florida improved as the year went on, I think we are finally more talented than them.

My take is a 10 win regular season.
Although I said what I said about Bama and Fla above, one of them will bite us.
Right now, UGA is our Florida of the 90s...we don't beat them until we beat them and it doesn't happen this year.

Add a CFP win to that regular season and we finish 11-3, which is really, really good.considering only a handful of teams will even play 14
games.

Our issue is we can't win at Ala or Fla. Hell, we couldn't even win at Arkansas.I will always count those 2 as loses until CJH can prove he can beat either on the road. Same with GA, I'll count that as an L until we prove we can beat them. I see 9-3, that's if we don't have an Arky type loss next season. Hopefully between Ala,Fla and GA, we find a way to win 1 of those.

I have a good feeling about the trip to Tuscaloosa as well. I think people have forgotten we nearly won there in 2023, we just blew it in the second half. And that was against Saban himself. I don’t get why so many people think we’re destined to lose there, it’s not like DeBoer exactly impressed anybody last season.
Me personally, History is what has me thinking it's a loss. But, like anything in life that can be changed with being successful. Hell, when did we beat Ala last in Tuscalooser? It happens every year, our fanbase feels condi about a win, yet without any success in recent memory. Hell, I wanna run off 10 straight against Alabubba, but the last 20 years makes it hard to be confident. We probably should win at Ala, they don't even know who their QB is gonna be. But, just like with Fla, we could have the better team, yet still find different ways to lose.

CJH's road record is what causes me doubt. Take Arky last year, Mizzou and SCe the previous 2 years. I had never seen our fanbase so over on last year at Ohio St. The **** talking was an an unbelievable level. Yet, they made us their bitch and beat the Brakes off us. Just not sure where the yearly overconfidence comes from. I'd love to be proven wrong. There's nobody I want to beat more than Alabubba and Fla. Especially living amongst the Bammers, it's caused an unhealthy hate for them. Would love to run off a decade+ of wins against them. I've given up on winning more than 1 in a row against Fla. We really should have lost to them last year. No clue why we struggle with them so much.

If we beat Georgia we're going 12-0. I don't fear either Alabama or Florida. Even on the road. Florida being later in the year benefits us.
Like optimism but we have a lot of youth on this team. I’ll take 10-4 this season with a run for it all in 2026. The upgraded offense should help, but other teams got better too.

I see, yet again, that an article can't include any mention of Nico without a reference to his NIL. No other player's NIL was mentioned, not even Arch Manning's nearly 3.5 million per year. Yet, Nico supposedly has this imaginary pressure to "live up to his NIL deal".
Well... he does have to live up to it. He is a professional. He better produce or he can go somewhere else.

Valid concerns and I want to make it clear I don’t even have the trip to Tuscaloosa penciled in as a W. I just think we have a much better chance of stealing that one than we’re getting credit for. But it certainly does require Nico to make a jump and for DeBoer to have a season like the one he had in 2024.

History strongly suggests that we will lose on the road at Bummer and UF. Also, we just don’t win against UGA recently. Lastly, we seem to drop at least one that we shouldn’t (Arkansas and South Carolina over the past couple of years).

Maybe the pattern will change this year.

Upcoming season feels very 2023ish. 9-3/8-4 lose to Florida, Bama, Georgia and possibly 1 other game we have no business losing.

Would love to be wrong.

All Brian Kelly teams are perennially soft and overrated. He benefitted greatly from the Notre Dame name while he was there, often getting blown out in playoff games they were clearly overmatched in. Bringing that same tradition to LSU.

We don't beat Georgia. They have the horses to just overpower and smother us. We are 2 more recruiting cycles (assuming we can consistently recruit in the top 10) and a couple of really good portal finds away from that. Right now we are good at 2 things(stout D line and great running game) and bad at 2 Things (secondary and O line). Everything else is just serviceable. Alabama is very winnable. That new coach is 1 season away from the AL faithful calling for his execution. Florida is always going to be Florida. It doesn't matter if we have the better team, the better coach, and stay at a Holiday Inn Express the night before the game, they can always find the luck to beat us. Realistically I see us losing to GA and splitting FL/AL. Unfortunately I see one more inexplicable loss to someone like OK or AR again.

FWIW - if the team stays at the Holiday Inn Express in Gainesville thus year and wins, I'd foot the bill for them to stay at a Holoday Inn Express for every road game...LOVE THIS !!!

If you forced me to make a prediction today, I'd go 8-4: losses to UGA, Swamp Lizards, Bama, and one more head-scratching bewildering loss.

By May I'll be at 9-3, and by August I will have talked myself into 10-2.

It depends on whether or not Saban’s refs retired with him. I don’t like to make excuses about the refs, but that is the one game I always point to where the calls were beyond ridiculous and they absolutely DID change the tone of the game.

Meh. I got us at 9-3. O-line issues are gonna hurt is

Can't say I would be entirely disappointed with 9-3 honestly. Kind of a year like 2023. Maintain par while we reload just a bit and get some experience for the young guys.

Far cry from where we were five years ago I know that much. Now we kind of pooh pah or yawn at a 9-3 season when we would have killed for one quite recently.
This is where I’m at. We will be underdogs at Bama and home against Georgia. Even If we are favored at Florida, we’ll still lose, just don’t think we’ll ever get over the psychological baggage of the swamp. Winning 10 after a bowl would be a good season and there is always a question mark game we end up losing which is a risk.

It doesn’t matter how good we are and if we have the same or better talent than Florida. I don’t see us getting over our baggage with the swamp. We barely beat them at home the past two games and we had the better team.

I doubt we win in the swamp. If Florida stays healthy....particularly at QB they will be a very tough out for most teams. Unfortunately, they will win a lot more games this year than people think. I can't even stand thinking about that.
