Wow. We're not any better??? Were y'all watching same game as me. Did you not see who was in game at end. Mac hits some FT at end, and Moore doesn't slip we may just win that game. Lots of moving parts and guys are playing hard, younger guys getting better. Might want to lighten up a bit. CCM has a different style, let it play out to end. We may be surprized!!!

The reason McRae missed his FTs has been addressed. Keep up.

Don't forget about primetime teddy valentine..

I think most are very accurate...I think Shows does a good job (I know his cousin and hear Doug is a good man) but Valentine commits ALL the things a ref shouldnt....Watch the next game he does and drama follows him to every game...he will be involved in some type of controversy just about every game...you'll see him spending time at the scorers table "reviewing"...I cant help but believe he knows he's getting air time...maybe thats being cynical but it surely seems that way...

Just my opinion but most of the games I have seen this year prove the point that 70% of refs should find a different profession because they suck at being a ref.

I hate to be "complain about the refs" guy, but it's hard to reach any other conclusion. It's probably the hardest sport to officiate and the talent pool is diluted by the number of games .... but I swear it's gotten worse the past few years.

I wonder sometimes if the game has gotten so fast that they need to actually add a 4th referee and start looking for specific violations according to their position the way football refs do.

The game was officiated better when only two called the game. The union got it bumped to three. Now guys keep track of how many times they blow a whistle to stay at the league average it else they feel they're not working. The third ref just added about 30 whistles to each game.

Shows is an insecure little prick. He missed his calling. He should work for the THP.

Right on the money about Valentine though. The only positive thing about Ted is that he impartially sucks by screwing over both teams. Shows, Sirmons, and the Eades screw Tennessee hard every time they call a game.

Man ppl are funny, y'all say cuonzo should stand up for his players, So when he does y'all criticize him and say it was late, should have been in the game. I don't understand he stands up for his players in a respectable way instead of making an a** out of himself and getting T. I'm sorry but I'm glad my coach dosent whine at every call like callipari maybe it's just me. I mean we all know ppl on here like to complain.

I have been shocked this year with the lack of emotion coming from Martin during the games. If there is a guy who can produce a spark from his team with some chewing and spitting fire, its that guy.... why the heck does he sit there like he is in time out?

Going to the SEC and formally complaining is a bad move for Martin and Vol BB. Now, UTK is a SEC-wide headline for the wrong reason.

About 90% chance CCM gets rung-up at least once today against 'Bama; it won't take much. And, while it may send the desired msg, the ref's aren't gonna forget his SEC official complaints for the rest of the season.

Would have been much easier to just get in their face, scream and holler, and get T'ed up. If that's not his style, that's on Martin. He IS a basketball coach; it's in the job description.

This post is completely contrary to fact.

I say chain Stokes to the freethrow line for a week, food and water included, and make that boy shoot freehtrows until his arms fall off. If he could be at least half way decent, he'd rack up a TON of points.

Ok Martin...how do you not demand the officials review that. Mcbee just got elbowed right in front of you, he's holding his mouth???wtf???

Maybe that phone call did help? No foul trouble for stokes, possibly his best game in orange, and a no call on that last possession.

So much for this thought.

2 fouls on Jarnell in 35 minutes...Jarnell then expressed his appreciation for his coach "having his back" after the game on air.

Just saying.

Great call bullfrog. The exact opposite happened today. You've shown yet again that you're clueless about hoops.

I don't understand why someone would say that Martin contacting the league about calls would hurt. It can't get any worse, and when calls are going against you in multiple games with different crews, then the avenue is a complaint with the league.

Look, I am a passionate guy, and I have been teed up coaching ball. But we just have a coach who is more professional than others, and simply does not want to show up an official. He has been much more animated the last few games, and I have seen him in an official's ear on several occasions. I think he is justified in using the league to justify his complaints. Most officials want to make the correct calls.
