CFN predicts Florida win over Vols.

I love thus. The more the merrier. I even hope we get screwed a few more weeks in rankings. Keep the boys that much more motivated with a chip on their shoulders. I never see much benefit with people oozing praise over college football teams. At best it makes no difference or keeps them confident in games they should already know they must win, at worst it makes them over confident or loses some motivation.

Pros aren’t affected much by motivation because they’re older and more seasoned: but college kids…different story.

That would be, yeah, awesome. Like how you named it, too:

Heh. Good name for it.

Back to beating Florida in the Swamp, just realized this: over the past decade, every single team of the SEC East has beaten Florida at their place, with two exceptions: Georgia, who always play them at neutral-site Jacksonville ... and the Vols.

It's time to complete that collection.

Go Vols!

We suck in the swamp. Winning there is another step we have to take. I think we are better, but something about that game in Gainesville brings out the worst of us and the best of them. I get the prediction, but I just don’t think it holds true any more We should win and will win if we stay composed and consistent.

Ok, so for clarity’s sake, while the article’s date update as they add the result of the week’s games, these full schedule prediction articles they create were made back in like July…their full season predictions for this article don’t update or shift as the season goes on.

Their prediction they make for who wins the actual game doesn’t look like it comes out until next week.

Either they hate the Vols or they can’t quit thinking about the past.

Well, I picked this game as the 3rd hardest for the Vols behind UGA & Bama. UF has great talent ,playing in the swamp and its just a matter of how amped up their crowd/players get and if their players correct their miscues. We need to win the turnover margin and jump on them early. I'd like to get the ball first and score taking the crowd & team out of it. They are fragile if we can get up on them they'll crumble their sitting on complain if anything goes wrong but give them sign of life could be dangerous.

It’s been a safe bet for almost 20 years since we haven’t beat then in the swamp since 2003. Time for TN to put this streak to an end.
Seems like until Huepel got here we set new records or found new creative ways to lose. Streaks increased, losses piled up, couldn’t beat a ranked team etc.

Last year, it seemed like we started ending these bad streaks one win at a time. I am optimistic this trip to the swamp will be another streak in the right direction. Like last year, I fully expect shaking these ghosts will be challenging and a dog fight of a game. There’s also a part of me however that believes we go in with an lsu type game from last year and pays them back. I just want a win by 1 but returning the embarrassments would be nice too…

Correct. OP is looking at CFN's full schedule predictions for us not their weekly predictions.

Would it surprise you to learn that over the past ten years, 15 teams have gone into the Swamp and kicked gator butt? Including such stalwarts as Vandy, Mizzou, and Georgia Southern?

* 2022 - Kentucky and LSU beat Florida in the Swamp (they went 6-7 overall)
* 2021 - Bama beat them in the Swamp (also 6-7)
* 2020 - LSU beat them in the Swamp (8-4)
* 2018 - Kentucky and Mizzou beat them in the Swamp (10-3)
* 2017 - LSU and A&M beat them in the Swamp (4-7)
* 2015 - Florida St beat them in the Swamp (10-4)
* 2014 - LSU, Mizzou, and USCe beat them in the Swamp (7-5)
* 2013 - Vandy, Georgia Southern, and FSU beat them in the Swamp (4-8)

Our long streak without beating them at their home has more to do with us having been in our Dark Ages than it does to do with any mystical advantage conferred by their home stadium.

It just seems that way because we've been mostly focused on our own troubles.

We're gonna rip them apart in the Swamp this year.

Go Vols!
Good point. I would agree with all that. Really didn’t even think of it in that sense but you’re right.

UF and UT talent composite is almost identical.

Good. I want to see this team focused and ready to stomp Florida as opposed to over confident and sleep walking into Gainesville.

A 50 point win won’t be enough. I want to see Napier crying on the sidelines at halftime.

Don't know who or what CFN even is, and more importantly I don't give a rat's ass. Why anyone cares what any of these alleged "experts" says or thinks is beyond me. Their only purpose is to get views and website clicks anyway, and I suggest we don't reward them.

In addition, I hope they're favored by 10. However, we know that won't happen...

Its just a prediction guys, come on and it appears to have been made prior to the Utah game. Based on our history there they may not be the only 'expert predictors' to pick the gators. Odds say that is the safe pic. They don't hate TN or anything else. Its just a pick. Vols have to prove them wrong.

Is this the preseason prediction or something more recent? They have a panel that does weekly predictions. I doubt all of them will pick UF knowing what we know.
