CFN predicts Florida win over Vols.

Would it surprise you to learn that over the past ten years, 15 teams have gone into the Swamp and kicked gator butt? Including such stalwarts as Vandy, Mizzou, and Georgia Southern?

* 2022 - Kentucky and LSU beat Florida in the Swamp (they went 6-7 overall)
* 2021 - Bama beat them in the Swamp (also 6-7)
* 2020 - LSU beat them in the Swamp (8-4)
* 2018 - Kentucky and Mizzou beat them in the Swamp (10-3)
* 2017 - LSU and A&M beat them in the Swamp (4-7)
* 2015 - Florida St beat them in the Swamp (10-4)
* 2014 - LSU, Mizzou, and USCe beat them in the Swamp (7-5)
* 2013 - Vandy, Georgia Southern, and FSU beat them in the Swamp (4-8)

Our long streak without beating them at their home has more to do with us having been in our Dark Ages than it does to do with any mystical advantage conferred by their home stadium.

It just seems that way because we've been mostly focused on our own troubles.

We're gonna rip them apart in the Swamp this year.

Go Vols!

FU will be up for the game. I'll be happy with a win even if only a point.

There isn't some magical mystique about playing at Florida. The truth is, it's hard to win anywhere on the road in the SEC aside from the bottom dwellers. Since 2003, there have been some games we should have won down there, but it's not exactly shocking that we didn't during that time period either. We've lacked mental toughness in many years, anything resembling an offense in several of the years, complete lack of coaching acumen in most of the years, and in some years we were severely overmatched in talent.

2005 - we didn't know it yet, but we were in the beginning stages of one of our most disappointing seasons of all time. We couldn't do anything offensively
2007 - we had about 3-5 players on our roster that would have played at all for Florida that year, namely Eric Berry
2009 - we didn't have a lot of talent and Florida was #1. We hung tough but looked an awful lot like Kiffin was playing for a moral victory
2011 and 2013 - we had Dooley and some of the least talented rosters maybe ever
2015 - Blew a late lead. Super painful to even talk about that one. Definitely should have won this one.
2017 - we didn't win a game in the SEC that year, so not exactly a surprise that we didn't win in the Swamp
2019 - To be honest I don't even remember this season. Looking through our roster, we had some talent. But we also had Pruitt
2021 - we had just been gutted in the transfer portal and were still reeling from Pruitt. Heupel was in his 4th game at UT.

If I were not a Vol fan, I would have this game on upset alert too. A program develops a habitual history and ours for 30 years has been to struggle mightily in the Swamp (and at home too). Until we whoop them (and good), that aura will stick to us like moldy cheese.
I think we take care of business this year though. Heup is a different breed when it comes to giving his players confidence and gosh self expectations.

2015 is honestly the only one we should have absolutely won. Blew a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter. UT had talent all over the field.

2005 - Horrible year with no offense.
2007- We lost by 30 something points
2009- Gators had too much talent and won the east. UT was competitive.
2011- Bad Dooley team
2013- Bad Butch team
2017 - Butch's worst team
2019- We weren't even competitive and lost by 31 points. Another lame brain coach leading us to a disaster.
2021- Vols had no answer once UF took over the game in the trenches. Heupel's team did improve as the year went on.

2023 really should be a win. If we can't beat UF in the swamp with this roster, then When?

It’s hard to win down there. Granted we have been down but haven’t won there since 05. This is the year that streak gets busted
03,it was 3-0,Clausen hit banks on a hail Mary at the half, we then ran it down their throats, Ingle Martin sucked, and they were just breaking in CJ Leak

I'm sorry to crush everyone's dreams, but until we actually BEAT them in the swamp, I'd predict a loss too. It's not rocket science. We've lost to UF teams that suck WORSE than this one! They'd better be prepared.

As I said in another post, this is the most unathletic Florida team I have ever seen, particularly in the defensive front 7 and along the offensive line. If Tennessee loses then we have turned the ball over a bunch, or had a very, very bad day.

Something tells me
James Pearce will have a serious say so in this matter.

It will be a huge game for both teams. Florida’s season probably goes in the tank with a loss. Gators roll over pretty quick once they’re outta contention for anything.

And that RFKjr would get secret service protection, the Fat Lady would never sing, and that the check was in the mail.
RFK Jr? What flat earth magazine are you reading? You realize no candidates get protection in the primary? He’s not special, outside of being nuts.

Yes, the fans have all of the memories of crapping the bed in Gainesville and losing but mostly the only memories that our players have is on the 2021 game where we could have won of Calloway doesn't drop the 4th down ball in the redzone.

It's Florida. In the swamp. If anything is gonna happen it's gonna happen.

Better be ready to play.

People need to realize we always play bad against them and they play great. Even last year one of their best games was against us. I believe we win but historically we have sucked against them.
We were leading last year by 11 points with less than 25 seconds left in the game, and I'll be damn if they still had a chance to beat us!

You gotta have the right kind of CAN DO attitude when you go down to Gainesville and WANT to WANT to beat them down for 4 quarters and make sure there was no doubt at the end of the night about why no one should've never considered UT a underdog down there this year....
