Indiana propped up OSU and PSU while allowing ND to avoid embarrassment in the postseason for a change. Win win for the committee.Who wouldn’t take S Carolina, Ole Miss, LSU, or FL against that Indiana team right now? Maybe Mizzou and Vandy too?
What a damn joke they were even involved after that pathetic schedule they played.
The committee didn’t have any choice on the byes. You can blame the conferences and powers to be for that. They’re the ones who agreed to the byes going to the four highest rated conference champions.
Bama already has an easy OOC schedule. When Bama's lips are moving they are lying.
Bama does not have those games scheduled. Bama's lips were moving.
Ohio State set to play Alabama in 2027, 2028
Alabama and Ohio State have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2027 and 2028, the schools announced Thursday.www.espn.com
Notre Dame-Alabama football series pushed back to 2029, 2030 seasons
Notre Dame and Alabama will play a home-and-home series in 2029 and 2030. The series was previously planned for 2028 and 2029.www.ndinsider.com
You don’t have to like Bama but they DO have OOC games scheduled with those teams in the future
Whether they will back out now that the CFP has rewarded soft schedules remains to be seen
I hate having to say this AGAIN but I will for the fortieth time:They didn’t lose to an OOC team. They lost to two of the weakest teams in the SEC. The strength of schedule argument is absurd.
I hate having to say this AGAIN but I will for the fortieth time:
1. Alabama does not deserve to be in the playoffs this year, they couldn’t handle business in the SEC and with three losses, two to barely bowl eligible teams, they did not earn a spot. I do not dispute that and only hardcore Bama cultists say otgerwuse
2. The way the CFP rewarded teams with bad SOS has absolutely caused problems and will in the future. There is NO incentive for teams to play tougher OOC opponents, especially if you are in the SEC. If teams that don’t play top teams get in or higher seeded over other teams that did, why would teams in the future make things harder on themselves? As an SEC team that has to play the likes of Georgia, Alabama, and so on, I honestly hope Tennessee schedules nothing but cupcakes in OOC because why should we schedule harder teams if there is no benefit and teams like Indiana will go 11-1 playing no one and be guaranteed a spot?
That is the point I am making. Alabama has two tough OOC opponents scheduled in the future. I honestly believe they should cancel those because why would they make their schedule harder if SOS doesn’t matter?

I’m looking at the future. If they don’t actually start taking SOS into account then good teams will get screwed and crappy teams will take their place, no one wants to watch about poser make it to the Championship
I agree completely, that’s why I’ve been saying there is no benefit to playing tough OOC opponents if you are in the SEC.It is not about OOC games, it's about the disparity of quality teams in the conferences. As long as the SEC is as deep as it is and the other "Power 4" leagues go maybe 2-3 deep with decent teams, if that, then any playoff system similar to this one will be unfair.
Everyone is letting Bama hate color their feelings, but next season it could very well be us if the rules don't change. And I promise that all of you saying that Bama (or Ole Miss or USCe) doesn't deserve to be in the playoff will be screaming bloody murder if we're one of that group that is left out. This isn't about Alabama.

I agree, I don’t know why you think im saying otherwise.I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall.
OOC games are irrelevant as long as the disparity in conferences exists! If we schedule four cupcake OOC games and go 5-3 in a brutal conference schedule, at 9-3 we're still going to be out when there are 11-1 Big 10 teams that played nobody.
The point is that unless conference disparity is accounted for, OOC games nean nothing. And Sankey sold out the SEC when he went tin business with the Big 10 as an equal partner to get a piece of the pie from the big media markets their programs are in.
I agree, I don’t know why you think im saying otherwise.
My point earlier was that unless SOS is made a much bigger point than it is now, then the SEC shouldn’t schedule anything but cupcakes. The SEC is the toughest conference in the nation and it’s not even close. Teans absolutely should be rewarded for playing a brutal schedule.
The Big10 has one or two good teams, one or two okay teams and the rest are trash. This gets proven time and again in the off season when 7-5 SEC teams boatrace other teams with “better” records.
Until the disparity of conference strength gets fixed, why should any SEC team make their paths to the playoffs even harder by scheduling OOC teams that have a pulse?
How to fix the fact that you can go 11-1 in the Big 10 without playing a top 25 team is not something that can be easily fixed until the people in charge recognize that the Big 10 is not equal to the SEC
Sankey needs to do more or someone else should be making those decisions for the SEC
We completely agree except that OOC games are completely irrelevant if good SEC teams are going 5-3 in conference while mediocre Big 10 teams are maybe losing one game. You're already out before you play a single OOC game, so what difference do they make?
What was so funny last night was McDonough telling the story of Cignetti sitting there at James f***king Madison looking at Indiana's schedule and telling his wife he could win 10 games against that schedule. Even he knows the truth.
