CFP National Championship: Ohio State vs Notre Dame Jan 20 7:30 ESPN

I mean it is his alma mater. He’s allowed to be proud of them. He can set aside the professional hat for the fan hat once the clock goes to zero
Or ESPN could not try to have a former alumnus and football player call the game? Maybe ESPN will let me call the next Tennessee Alabama game?

Ehh, it’s more Franklin than anything.

Disagree. Allar stinks, and is the classic over hyped 5-star who just isn't no matter how much national media praise he gets. He's dynamite against Purdue and Rutgers, but against any decent team he shrinks.

Anyone see that emotional slobbering breakdown from Herbstreet? Says he remains “objective” as a sports reporter, but had to grab the tissues because OSU won. OSU homer. Always will be.
Believe it or not, every broadcaster has a college degree - most of them from a power school with a good broadcasting program, and those in the upper echelon have playing experience at the highest level. They are also humans who get to know the players and coaches they cover on a personal level. If he was emotional, it is likely because he felt redemption for Ryan Day after everything that guy and his family endured from the fan base after losing to Michigan. You want Kirk to move out of Tennessee, too?

Get off your high horse. Just because we didn't play tonight doesn't mean you have to find something else to complain about besides the refs.

I’m convinced the only TV announcer that Vol fans would like is Sean McDonough. And I think that’s largely based on the fact that he called the 98 Florida game

Look man, he’s the biggest name among their CFB announcers. That means he’s going to call the big game.
Hes “highly objective” when calling these games, and immediately needs the Kleenex box. You wouldn’t know Bias if it slapped you in the face. Brought up TN getting beat on 4 different occasions. There’s a reason he got kicked out of Ohio. Hopefully he leaves Nashville soon. Just another 2-face that has you fooled. You friends with Gary Danielson too?

I think Gabriel would’ve carved us up pretty good .

Ohio State is like a great NBA team who coasted through the end of the season and then decided to turn it on when the playoffs started and just wrecked everyone .
Oregon's defense is trash though so we might have stayed with them.

I didn't see this slobbering all over Ohio St that he gets a lot of flak for. If anything, he overhyped the amount of people we had in Columbus for the game we played against them.

He publicly downplayed it, but some of their more crazed fans ran him and his family out of Columbus. It's why he moved to Nashville (now Nashville + Cincinnati). He said it wasn't because of their fans, but then said right after they had a couple of "isolated instances." So it was their fans.

Our fans hate anyone that’s not John Ward, Sean McDonough and Ron Franklin.

I actually got a lot of respect for Herbs anyway. If I got to listen to anyone on Saturday in a big game, regardless of who is playing, I'd rather it be him.

OSU/Day/Kelly did not throw his son away when he had to quit playing due to his heart. His wife has health concerns. Fans may have caused him to move, and the only reason he splits time with Cincy is his other sons private HS choice. He has a right to be emtional over OSU the way the staff has treated his kid.
