Just watch what happens if Michigan and Ohio St play a close game. There will be plenty of folks clamoring for both to get in if both only have one loss. Now we might still get in if the right things happen with TCU and the PAC 12 but I just know the bias toward Ohio State and Michigan especially with the SEC fatigue that is a definite threat.
Not with those resumes. Only one of them getting in and it's gonna be completely because they beat the other and won the conference. The loser doesn't have the resume to get in with one loss. If the game was this Saturday I might agree with you because they would have time to make it up but they play late in the season. Top 5 teams seem to be dropping at least 3-4 spots in the ranking no matter who u lost to. If OSU loses they're dropping to 5, if Mich loses they're dropping to 6. Bama lost to 2 top 10 teams by 1-3 points and both times they dropped 3 spots

With who’s left on our schedule they had to put us out of the top 4. They couldn’t leave our destiny in our hands. We have a chance at the playoffs by winning out. I expect to win out and expect to make the playoffs.

Relax dudes, if the committee wasn’t high on us, they wouldn’t have voted us #1 last week. And the fact they did gives us a very very good chance to be in the top 4 come seasons end. If we had been #3 last week, we’d be 6 or 7 now with really no shot. The committee is setting us up for success imo. The media is trying to set us up for failure. Big difference between the two.

Good spot at 5
they kept talking about us being crushed and a beat down by Georgia

However the committee chairman came out and still had good things to say about Tennessee. He sounded as though we could certainly play ourselves right back in it.

If it comes down to Tennessee and Oregon then Vols will get the spot. Pac12 teams to not travel and it's all about revenue for the cities hosting. Vols fans travel. It's an easy decision.

Blow everyone out the rest of the season. 62 -7. Don't care. Play like OSU/UM do against Toledo and we good.

This is why I just told my older brother ( avid Buckeye fan) and son (sophomore at UT) why i won’t watch any ESPN playoff shows, etc. The media stirs the pot to drive more conversation. Most folks would agree that a one loss TN team should be selected over a two loss LSU team, even if SEC champion. I don’t have the patience for this rhetoric as it gets me riled up. 😆

Vols need to absolutely destroy every remaining team on the schedule in order to reestablish our playoff position

My fear in all of this is the amount of “SEC fatigue” that’s out there. The conference has been so dominant for so long that there are plenty of folks that are clamoring for only one SEC team to be in there. I’m just afraid that politics is going to take over. Hoping TCU loses one and one of the Big 10 teams wins decisively. I also believe they won’t shut the PAC 12 out this time and either Oregon or USC gets in if they only have 1 loss. Lots of games to go though.
We have 3 threats to us. 2 at least must be eliminated for us to get in, preferably all 3. They are:

1. An undefeated TCU
2. A one loss loser of Ohio State/Michigan in a close, entertaining game, say 35-34, especially if that loser is Ohio State
3. A one loss PAC12 champ, especially if it's Southern Cal.

I find it hilarious that these idiots think that our loss to UGA was every bit the blowout that Oregons was. 46 points versus 14 isn’t even close. But yeah you can tell everyone is slobbering on Oregons sack. Oregon will likely get in over us.

It's ALL about geographic television audience. Include Oregon, you more from the west coast. That simple. That's all E$PN cares about.

I can't believe that I am rooting for Baylor and the Longhorns, but here I am. Man, somebody fetch me my medicine, I need a drink!

Tennessee wins out, they are in. Oregon and/or TCU will lose.

If OSU loses their Mich game by less than a TD, they'll put both of them in the top 4, you can book that. Then our only hope is a TCU loss and Oregon doesn't jump us.

These are fun exercises but we all know they’ll pick who they want at the end based on business agendas.

Interesting comparison right now is current top 10 versus current top 10:

UGA. 2-0
Vols. 2-1
Ducks. 1-1
LSU. 1-1
UCLA. 0-1
Bama. 0-2

Kinda wondering if this is driving the current ranking order.

We are fine.
TCU will lose to Texas and maybe also at Baylor
TOSU will beat Michigan in Columbus.
then, the pundits can have their PAC 12 one loss champ,, probably Oregon at number four.
semifinals….UGA vs OREGON IN Atlanta (again this year) TOSU vs VOLS in Tempe.
I believe this is the correct forecast for the coming weeks. GBO

They are just hyping up Oregon, we're going to get a political haymaker and wind up in the sugar bowl lol, not that that's a terrible thing.
I've been expecting UT to get screwed over but some of the things that have happened have made me feel a little more confident. Bama losing to LSU was a big break for UT so long as UGA beats them or they lose again which is also possible.

I am fairly confident that Oregon will not win out. Since playing UGA... they've played a VERY weak schedule. FCS EWU. BYU who was thought to be good but is now 5-5 with some bad losses. They won a close high scoring game vs WSU (5-4). Stanford at 3-6 gave them a better game than they should have. They beat 3-6 Arizona. Their lone "good" win is over a one loss UCLA team 45-30. After that they beat 3-6 Cal and an awful 1-8 Colorado team.

Their last 3 games are Washington, Utah, and at Oregon State. That is by far the toughest stretch of their season. I will be very surprised if they don't drop one of those games.
