CFP Scenarios (merged)

Seismic day for the playoff race. Tennessee's gonna slide, but with Clemson going down and Alabama falling off, the road for Tennessee suddenly got a LOT brighter. Wow.

Probably 1 UGA, 2 Ohio State, 3 Michigan, 4 TCU, and 5 Tennessee. That's HUGE because either Ohio State or Michigan is gonna take an L. The only real risk at that point is Ohio State losing; the voters do LOVE giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Tennessee took the L but the path is still there. Starts next week with Missouri. GO VOLS.

Not sure why TCU is jumping into 4 spot when they beat Texas Tech by 10 points. They are moving up regardless because people in front of them lost, not because they won.

Tennessee inside Top 4

And on cue, the ESPN guys calling the USC-UCLA game begin talking about "is this the year we see a 2 loss team in the playoffs?" Of course. Of freaking course. Never change, ESPN, you tool bags.

Georgia clear cut #1. Big Ten champ at #2. Don't care if we're #3 or #4. As long as we win the rest of our games, we got a really good chance. Even if TCU wins out.

Well if LSU wins the SEC, they would be in the playoff.

If TCU does jump us, you gotta figure there are good odds they’ll drop one of their last 3, and if we keep winning we jump the loser of Oh St/Mich. Multiple paths to make the playoff.

Honestly don't see how we can drop out of the top for for losing to the number three team in nation on the road.

Who has TCU played?

Also, will the committee put in TCU over Tennessee? That's a harsh reality for a team like TCU
If they go undefeated and win the conference they will absolutely be above us. The good news is there is room for 2 SEC teams now and the best news is BAMA AINT ONE OF EM! 😂

I think TCU jumps us.
Agreed. Still, they've got to hit the road and play at Texas next week and at Baylor following that so I'm not feeling nearly as bad as I did 5 hours ago. We still have playoff life and frankly, the road to get there isn't all that difficult or hard to imagine. Crazy game.

Why would Tennessee drop below TCU. Bama was ahead of TCU and Tennessee beat Bama. Would make absolutely no sense

Doesn’t matter. Michigan or Ohio State will lose.

Tennessee lost its only game of the season on the same Saturday it was virtually assured a spot in the CFP. Gotta love college football.
