In theory, it seems that ND is in the best position to buy up all the talent. Juggernaut in the makingEach round of the playoffs comes with a financial incentive. If a team reaches the title game, they earn a total of $20 million. That money is then allocated to their conference and divided among all the schools in that conference. Notre Dame gets to keep the entire $20 million. There’s no reason for them to join a conference.
I agree, ND football doesn’t need a conference. They make 50 million a year from NBC. The school also makes around 17 million per year from the ACC.Each round of the playoffs comes with a financial incentive. If a team reaches the title game, they earn a total of $20 million. Yeah, I feel the same way. I don’t think Texas will lose in an agonizing way though, I think Ohio State is going to have the game in hand before the 4th quarter.I’d like to see Texas lose in the most agonizing way possible, whether it’s tonight or in the championship game.
Maybe we should be rooting for Texas, Vols would make $1.25 million tonight. That’s not chump change. Each round of the playoffs comes with a financial incentive. Yesterday was a fun watch, hoping we get another good one tonight.Yeah, I feel the same way. I don’t think Texas will lose in an agonizing way though, I think Ohio State is going to have the game in hand before the 4th quarter.
I hope I’m wrong, I’d love to see a great 1 point game where Ewers throws a pic in the end zone with a few seconds on a 4th quarter clock. Plus, I made a small wager that Quinn Ewers will throw an interception tonight. Was that a good bet you think?
I saw him last night on that pass interference call in the end zone. He was just smiling at the ref. Pointing his finger instead of cussing him out. I think he's a good coach who know how to get the best out of his guys.Marcus Freeman is just about the only thing that makes Notre Dame tolerable. He seems like a good guy, and his team plays hard for him.
I saw that too and I was shocked at his restraint . I also saw on Sportscenter postgame highlights dropping an F bomb Horseshit call that we didn’t see on the live broadcast.I saw him last night on that pass interference call in the end zone. I agree with you, and I’ve almost always disliked ND. There was a brief period in the 90’s where as a kid I pulled for them bc I wanted FSU to lose. Ironically, I love Bobby Bowden, I just couldn’t stand all of the FSU fans in South Georgia when I was growing up and UGA was terrible. This period in my life also explains my distaste for your Vols. No disrespect intended.I saw that too and I was shocked at his restraint . I also saw on Sportscenter postgame highlights dropping an F bomb Horseshit call that we didn’t see on the live broadcast.
I know people were upset with that call, but it wasn’t much different from the PI call vs Bama that saved our ass when Fant got interfered with .
You basically told my story. I loved Rudy when it came out in 93, which was the same year that they played FSU in South Bend. I had my Notre Dame hat and I hated FSU, but was a fan of Bobby Bowden. Once I started to really get into college football my affinity or respect I had for the Irish diminished. I loved it when Leinart scored in 2005 to win.@RDU VOL#14 I feel the need to elaborate on my affinity towards Bobby Bowden and almost hatred for FSU. I saw it, as a kid, that people were just jumping on the bandwagon of a powerhouse and disregarding my Dawgs! To me, this was unforgivable.
Although, I actually met Bowden in Thomasville, GA once. I knew he would be there and I was wearing my UGA attire bc my nine year old self deemed it appropriate. He actually came over and congratulated me on supporting my favorite team and shook my hand!
In hindsight, it’s no wonder folks supported FSU, Bowden was a class act and did much for the collective communities in and around South GA and North Florida. He was a genuinely good person and this was even obvious to a nine year old FSU hater. Just wanted to add this experience after mentioning Coach Bowden.
P.S. - I still can’t stand FSU, but I’ll always think fondly of Bobby Bowden.
Go to Omaha and hang around a few Texas fans.Well, it will not be B1G verses B1G like the media was hoping it would be.
I don't really understand the disdain for Texas that most Vols fans have. Personally, I like to see the B1G teams lose, just because of the arrogance and bias of the media towards that conference. So I will not be disappointed to if Texas wins.
