Chances Worley could enter the draft?

Maybe if they graft a bionic arm on him. I think thats about the only shot of Worley going to the big show. Granted, I hope he does fantastic this year but if he had NFL level caliber play in him we would likely have seen flashes of it already.

If he has a, breakout senior season I'd like to bring this comment back up. Seriously, he may be our best shot this season at keeping our rebuilding momentum going. Stop hating on your own players.

Not hating on him. Just telling it how it is. I've never seen a vol QB miss as many short passes as he did.

I would be very happy to eat crow about this. I hope he does break out. I just think he'll lose his job again.

Not likely, not impossible. Hope he has a killer season and moves on from UT in the manner he wishes.

He may not be the earth shattering gunslinger we crave at UT but he seems like a solid young man. I think he will do very well in life no matter where he lands.

Go Worley! Go VOLS!

Coach Jones himself said a lot of those were the receivers not running routes properly.

Will Worley be drafted? Not likely! However, a really good season performance could change all that. An average of 300+ yards passing per game, 3 or 4 passing TD's per game and a couple of late game scoring drives would put him on the NFL radar.

The beginning of the season is way to early for QB draft projections, let's wait til at least mid-season. The Oregon QB is about the only one I would place on the sure-to-be-drafted list at this point.

I'm sure he'll enter the draft. Now whether or not he gets drafted is the real question. And I'd say he won't.

Thought I'd see what people think about Worley and whether or not he could enter the draft after his senior season?

Discuss!

he'd have to have one heck of a season to get drafted, but hey, stranger things have happened.

Put it this way, if Worley gets drafted then I will eat dog food AGAIN and post the pictures AGAIN just like the last time I was wrong about a bet on here.

Now, this is one of those bets where I hope I am going to be eating dog food because if he gets drafted it means our team will be a lot better than I think they're gonna be.

His chances are about the same as Lloyd Christmas hooking up with Mary Swanson.

LMAO

McCarron was projected in the 2nd round and slipped to the 5th with his resume and we are talking about Worley being drafted?

I think I remember a guy named Brady that didn't play at all get drafted...
What do you mean by "didn't play at all?" He was the qb in all 25 games for Mich in 98 and 99. He threw for 5222 yds and 35 tds. If you want somebody who played in the NFL who hardly played in college, look to Condredge Holloway's backup, Pat Ryan of the NY Jets.

Pat Ryan didn't play much in the NFL. He had a long career as a backup. Had some starts because of injury to the starter, but not too many, as I recall. But he was in the league for about a decade, I think.

BottomLine: he is a college player and not of NFL calibre. But as a VOL fan, what does that matter?

Ryan was in the league for 14 years. He started 19 times, played in 145 games, and threw 657 passes. At U.T., he threw 76 passes total in his career. My point was that he played in the NFL without playing much in college.

Edit: You could also easily argue that Pat Ryan had the best and longest NFL career of any U.T. qb ever other than Manning. Better than Shuler, Bobby Scott, Ainge, Tee Martin. Am I forgetting anyone? Simms and Bray are new, but I'll be surprised if either survives that long or plays in that many games.
