Charlie Strong Head Coach Resume

I like Grundy better than Strong just for the fact he's played in a real conf, not the Big Least. Fedora doesnt tickle me too much just because its the ACC but it is a smidgen better than the Big Least. I'd give a golf clap to Strong or Fedora if hired but would be pleased if it was Grundy.

Gruden would be that home run on the front end because its the prize virtually everybody wants. Lots of press for sure and probably some high star players. Its the long term that concerns me more. Not sure if he'd stay that long being such a wanted commidity. His ability to win is iffy too. He just might be able to build it up but he also may flounder like he did after winning the SB. Worse of all he has to learn how to recruit on the job since he hasnt done it in 20+yrs. On the job training isnt what we need going up against Saban, Spurrier, Miles, etc... its about learning how far you can push the envelope without getting in trouble.

I just pray Hart knows what he's doing keeping everything close to his chest. I'm going to trust him until he proves me wrong

True. A Gruden/Gundy combo hire would be grand slam.

(Kidding... I jest. I jest. :) )

Im a fan of Strong, but Bridgewater has a lot to do with his success this year.

Just speaking in what ifs, say we get Strong, would Bridgewater consider transfering here? After all that's why he came to Louisville right?

"Proven" doesn't always equate to a positive. What they are "proven" to be has some bearing on things.

Petrino is devoid of integrity. Davis just got fired under a cloud of NCAA investigation. Neither is the best bet for a UT school on NCAA probation.

Besides these two, who else you have in mind? Reports are in that Gundy doesn't find UT appealing. Stoops isn't leaving. Gruden will be a miracle, with reports that his demands were crippling.

As far as Petrino, I don't give a crap about what happens in his bedroom....that's btw him and his wife....now hiring his mistress was a very bad decision.....but a fine piece of tail has derailed a lot of men...

On Davis, he was cleared by the NCAA for anything to due with UNC....

Your job isn't to steer a major university's cash cow athletic program. Whether you care about his bedroom or not, he has shown a lack of integrity in at least his past three jobs and left them in shambles. UT can't afford another quick-exit tornado. It needs stability and a leader with integrity to do things right while on probation (and beyond, may I add...).

If he will cheat on his wife... If he will lie to her... If he will break University hiring rules... If he will lie to his employers... If he will screw his employee's fiance...

Who else will he lie to? What other rules will he break? What other people will he "screw". What other people will he screw over? Who else will he cheat?

Besides the win/loss record, that's what he has "proven". That's the integrity you're asking to trust our probation to. And it has more to do than his bedroom or a piece of "tail".

On Davis, he was cleared by the NCAA for anything to due with UNC....

I realize that. That doesn't change the fact that he was fired under the shadows of NCAA investigations. UT needs squeaky clean, since we are on probation and in the cross-hairs.

Another rival talking up strong for us. I always find these a bit skeptical. Everybody wants him because he is the best, but nobody ever takes him. Oh well, if he is good enough to be turned down by Fla, he must be good enough for us.
That's BS. The guy was still in the rebuilding process at UL. This year has shown he's capable of rebuilding a team from the ground up. Yes it's the Big East, but look what he has to recruit to. UL isn't the best sell even in the Big East.

If he can convince a 5* QB like Teddy Bridgewater to come to UL, then there's no denying his ability to pull diamonds for UT out of Florida. The guy has 2 (recent) National Championship rings on his finger. That is going to be a big magnet for him.

Be a skeptic if you like, but watch recruiting explode. I think only Gruden could do better in recruiting than Strong. If he keeps Chaney, Pittman and Graham, I think he could hit the ground running and this team will back at the top of the SEC East next fall. We were a lot closer to it this season than most people realize, but the loss of Wilcox (and subsequent hiring of Sunseri + switch to 3/4), it killed our chances.

I'd like to see him snag Randy Shannon away from TCU, and make him the DC (even though Strong will likely oversee the D the way Saban does at Bamer). Together, and his DL (from Miami)....that is a Florida recruiting pipeline that would be pure gold.

Does Strong run a 4-3 VoN?

As a Coach of a major college program, you cannot afford to have your integrity compromised. Why? Cause you HAVE to keep your players out of trouble off the field, and if the coach can't keep his shiite together off the field, what makes you think he has any authority to hold his players accountable to a higher standard?

He's done.
