Originally from the South, Cherokee and other Native American nations purchased enslaved black people as laborers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
They were then taken along with the tribes as they themselves were driven further west by white settlers.

The only Tribe out here that ran their mouth over such symbolism was the Seminole over the FSU symbols. The Florida Seminole Tribe told them to STFU and GTFO. There is a mutual respect there and the Tribal name on a vehicle isn't disrespectful at all. All Jeep has to do is a little positive PR, history of the Tribe, important contributions they made, their history of persecution, etc. A little would go a long way with one of the other Tribes.

Especially if they got in on a licensing deal.
