Even that article contradicted itself in a few places. Look, I went into this with an open mind but I can tell you I am more confused now than I was before.

I only take wiki as a starting place for research. Take some of the key words and search around.

Bottom line is that the facility was a suspected WMD location pre-war. We went in and you know what we found.

A couple of defectors started the story of it being a terrorism training camp with a Boeing 707 used for hijacking drills. It took off in the media and the administration soaked it up as a potential "we told you so".

Unfortunately, there is no evidence that any terror training went on at that facility and the plane in question was actually an ancient Turkish TU-154.

A plane of any kind could be used just as easily for terrorist training purposes just as well as counter terrorism. I don't know if Sadaam stopped his biological programs or not but with the time he had pre invasion he very well could have gotten rid of the evidence. Bottom line is we just don't know. There is no evidence to support it. But if we use the lack of evidence to say there was nothing there we are being naive.

I see interesting articles and refrain from posting them (such as the McClellan piece) because the debate seems to never get anywhere...

It goes somewhere, a lot of people do not know how to take the politics forum. In fact, too many newbies take things a little too serious.

In the end, all we are doing is having fun at the expense of politics.

So I would never hesitate to post in any thing.

Because todays politics are just so damn frustrating (no matter your party affiliation) that if we didn't have a laugh I'm pretty sure many of us would go insane!

Yeah..I think that I definitely approach it differently. I don't take things personally, but I do approach them seriously. So, I'm usually looking to discuss issues from the standpoint of coming to a better understanding of how people form their beliefs, what factor of party's platforms can benefit/hurt certain aspects of our country, etc. I also try to use it as a means to better cement my beliefs....or to ground them a bit better...so I guess that is why I am inclined to want to see the debate go somewhere. I really don't like talking points...because they are really just designed to further the argument not the debate....

While I inject humor into my debates Tenn T I do like seeing things from a different perspective. It also helps to shape my opinions on issues.

It doesn't matter which party is in office, I'll find something to criticize them about. It's my right as a voting US citizen to complain about my elected officials.

People that draw party lines and never cross them scare me.

If Obama gives me as much to hate as Bush has I'll have no problem voicing my opinion on him as well.

Hang on............ Bush's government collected 2.7 trillion dollars in tax revenue................

What do you think Obama's government will do?

Why does our government need 2.7 Trillion dollars?

I honestly have no idea...I don't have a concept of what 2.7 trillion can buy you!

I do know this is troubling, though...

Either healthcare costs must come down or revenue is going to have to go up...or baby boomers are going to have to die really early (which I'm not really going to get behind).
