China Thread

In bed with China.

Action speaks louder than words man. Just like the Border is Closed comment. Such BS.

However, I do think these nutbags in the current adminstration sees that the winds of public opinion is really changing on China policy. So they don't have any real conviction on the matter, they realize it's a losing issue in America to be feekless against China.

China has been playing these games longer than any country in Europe has existed. They were dictating trade policy with the Roman Empire. Maintaining the upper hand by any means necessary is quite literally baked into their culture.

If we want any meaningful change, they're going to make it hurt in the process. And if we try to play the game the way they play the game, we've already lost.

This is a tough nut to crack
Just roll out the opium

Best thing any of us can do in our daily life is READ THE LABEL when shopping. If it says “Made in China”, put it back. The sad thing is that all of our cheap crap purchased from Wal Mart has bankrolled the CCP. We have financed our own subservience. It is time for that to stop.

It will not end until shareholders make it end. Shareholder capitalism and the demand for ever increasing dividends is what has pushed jobs out of the US to the cheapest production places possible.

It's time to bring back stakeholder capitalism.

China is already winning World War III, via money (msn.com)

"In a recent interview on CBS's "60 Minutes," Secretary of State Antony Blinken touched on that reality when he said: "I think that over time, China believes that it can be and should be and will be the dominant country in the world."
Imagine the surprise to China's leaders that in order to achieve global domination, instead of starting World War III, they simply had to cut some checks."

I dont think the ordinary citizen realizes that we will have to live within our means if this were to happen, and to prevent it, war with China will be self fullfiling

Ok. So what is the form of capitalism where value is maximized for the customer and long term retention and positive experience is maximized for the employee, with the goal that both of these will result in a stronger and more profitable company?

Honestly, I even went looking for information that agreed with your stance and found nothing to coordinate it. Do you have a source?

What subservience?

I think the good news is more Americans are waking up to the growing threat of China. This virus exposed their behavior. We have helped finance their rise and misbehavior, and it is clear there are bureaucrats in bed with them for the detriment of the country.

I could stop buying "Made in China" but it won't make a difference unless millions do the same. We have also educated many of their spies over here right now.

Stakeholders? Everybody is in it for the money. Shareholders expect profits. Employees expect wages. Customers expect good deals. The bottom line is that they all have a hand out looking to be rewarded financially. Dealing with the woke activists is just a distraction and a new form of a cost of doing business. Leadership can no longer simply be finance, or engineering and production, or politically well connected, or sales focused. They now need to be skilled at keeping their business efficient while also avoiding being doxxed.

Did you even read those links? I read the first two and all I could think was someone has spent a life in academia and not the real world. Once the .gov starts forcing private businesses to consider non shareholder input/concerns you don’t have capitalism.

You still never answered my question directly. I get the feeling it's because you can't.

And the government doesn't have to force anything. We the people just have to use our buying power to convince companies to do right by us and their employees. Use whatever media we can to be heard as we transition back.

It's already starting to happen, bit by bit.
