China Thread

Take a moment to look at the video and form an objective perspective about her arguments. I think what she says are facts but you may have counter opinions.
Trump did this same thing when he was trying to get a trade agreement. He didn't condemn the concentration camps or Hong Kong, Taiwan because he didn't want to upset their government.

Do you really think Trump was concerned about upsetting China?

It's starting to look like we may be under China's thumps when you see all the apologizing and desperation for a $. Not good. It's the bureaucracy over the last 2-3 decades that has put us in this position and Biden is a huge part of that.

Yes, Trump called Xi his "friend." What was that about?

Yes, the recent graveling of some athletes/actors is pretty blatant, but people do it for money all the time, just not the Chinese government.

Trump was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. He called Xi his friend while simultaneously scolding China every chance he got - before and after meetings with Xi. China just played the long game and waited for him to leave office.

Point me to his condemnation of the treatment of the Uyghurs?

Uh, that’s not chess. That’s kissing China’s ass while trying to con his base into thinking he would stand up to China in any meaningful way.

He signed the bill that congress passed.

When trade negotiations were ongoing, did he ever make a statement in front of the camera that would satisfy Ingraham's demands of Lebron James?

Doubtful that he did. Wasn't his style.

I think Hog has already debunked your claims.

The Biden administration is in bed with the Chinese.

Most of our politicians are in bed with China. Most of the heads of our various bureaucracies are in bed with China. Most of our international corporations are in bed with China.

Breaking the Mould: Trump’s China Policy

However, the Trump administration makes it clear that they believe this approach has failed, using evidence such as a resurgent Russia and China to back up these claims. In contrast to its predecessors the 2017 NSS has a clear Hobbesian outlook where countries are thought of as states competing for advantage against each other. The following text lifted from the NSS echoes this: “These competitions require the United States to rethink the policies of the past two decades—policies based on the assumption that engagement with rivals and their inclusion in international institutions and global commerce would turn them into benign actors and trustworthy partners. For the most part, this premise turned out to be false.”

Trump's China Policy & The National Security Strategy

And since most of the powers that be in the western world are owned by China this "investigation" is just theater.

A video clip of Trump talking about it, or a tweet. Let's see it. He talked at length about all the bad things he saw in the world. This should be easy.

The shark has been jumped and it's just a matter of time now.

You cannot compete with a country where the citizens have no inherent rights, there is zero wokeness allowed, the currency is artificially devalued, the population is quadruple your size, the wages are 1/10th the wages here, and the country only wants to succeed and has zero respect for intellectual property.

The western democracies will bury any evidence that covid was manufactured and released by accident or intentional because they would be forced to take action against China if that ever got out.

They've run interference up to now or it's because Trump was right. Such self righteous pricks instead of journalists of truth.

You guys don't recognize feekless rhetoric. First, China embarrasses these fools in Alaska, so now they respond with words and no action plan. You do realize this investigation started during Pompeo's term? It's no surprise the article tries to make it sound like the Beijing Biden administration is doing something different by adding abortion and lgbt language.

Call me when these toothless career bureaucrats actually do something.

China has been playing these games longer than any country in Europe has existed. They were dictating trade policy with the Roman Empire. Maintaining the upper hand by any means necessary is quite literally baked into their culture.

If we want any meaningful change, they're going to make it hurt in the process. And if we try to play the game the way they play the game, we've already lost.

This is a tough nut to crack
