China Thread

China has viewed the US as weak since Mao took over, if it hadn't been for the US in WWII there is a good chance China would have been overrun by the Japanese. Even with the US supplying the Chinese with arms and ammunition the Chinese still attacked the US just 5 years later in Korea; 20 years later in Vietnam; and continually ever since economically/politically. Why the US has caved in to their pressures and allowed China to dominate manufacturing is beyond me other than just sheer greed by politicians. They have never been our friends or allies post WWII.

Fears UK's nuclear sub deal with US and Australia could Drag Britain into War if China Invades Taiwan - as Boris Johnson 'rules nothing out' and security advisor says military pact is 'indissoluble bond' on which 'new collaboration can be built'

Boris Johnson's nuclear submarine deal with the US and Australia has raised fears Britain could be dragged into war if China invades Taiwan.

He was asked yesterday what the new naval alliance - dubbed Aukus - would do if Beijing marched on Taipei.

The sabre-rattling PM refused to rule anything out, saying it was the UK's job to 'defend international law'.

Meanwhile his national security adviser hailed the cooperation between the nations as creating 'indissoluble bonds'.

New Chinese Ambassador Snaps at U.S.: ‘Please Shut Up’

china-us-flags.jpg

Listen to this article

Qin Gang, China’s new ambassador to the United States, has a decidedly undiplomatic message for the Biden administration.

“If we cannot resolve our differences, please shut up,” he said during a private Zoom meeting hosted by the National Committee on United States–China Relations (NCUSCR) late last month.

Qin, who arrived in Washington in July, had just delivered a speech about the current state of bilateral ties to a small group that included NCUSCR’s board of directors. During the question-and-answer session that followed, Evan Medeiros, a Georgetown University professor who served as National Security Council director for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia in the Obama administration, asked what steps the U.S. and China could each take to improve the bilateral relationship.

Chinese Ambassador Snaps at U.S.: Please Shut Up | National Review

The little POS needs to disappear the next time he's out and about. When the Chinese question, the correct response is "STFU, you misplaced him; we aren't picking up your dirty laundry for you."

Allowing people to breath twice in 15 years? Getting soft.

Can't they just use filters to make the sky blue, and then use their internet police to quiet the athletes' complaints. That's what Mao would have done.

They could just spray paint the polluted air sky blue. Problem solved ... Chinese style. And I really want to use the other word for Chinese.

There's been a lot of Japanese military activity at Naha, Okinawa lately. The F-15s, P-3s, E-2 (I think), and helicopters. They aren't tracked on the ADS-B sites, so you just see them taking off and landing - Naha has two great HD live streaming cams that cover most of both runways ... and a hill between the runways - there's a Patriot battery there - you see the radar but not the launchers. There have been recent Chinese drone sightings south of Okinawa and submarines north. There are usually some C-130s and some smaller planes from Kadena that show up on ADS-B; they fly a lot of laps here and there. Sometimes the Kadena KC-135s show up, but never any fighters. I've seen both CobraBall and RivetJoints fly into Kadena (ADS-B), and a couple of weeks ago a Rivet Joint popped up and disappeared just south of Taiwan - headed toward the strait between China and Taiwan. So both we and the Japanese are likely monitoring ... and it could just be exercises - you never know. No clue to what Taiwan is doing, but you can bet they aren't sitting around doing nothing as far as surveillance.

China getting rattled by this impending default. Could get interesting over there for a bit.

I'd bet on the too big to fail part ... and that some heads will roll - literally. It will give the CCP some legitimacy with an ability to claim they loosened up and greedy, corrupt capitalists ruined the deal. It wouldn't be surprising to see some nationalization of assets, too. I still think anybody investing in China by building plants or in any way transferring technology is making a huge mistake and will find their property taken by the Chinese state at some point in time.

Hugo style. Stupid corps will still slop it up because....1.5B consumer market. All the while their tech is stolen and they are discarded to the trash when no longer needed as they can produce at even thinner margins.

Hey, at least those US Corporation Board Members will have secured their options before the SHTF.

Agreed. Been out of China for quite a while. Hong Kong issue even further legitimized that decision and the facilitating of the Wuhan Flu put the “absolutely never again” stamp on it. It’s just too unpredictable and volatile over there for me. You never know what’s coming next from the CCP, but we should by now. Sounds like HSBC, UBS and Blackstone have a lot of exposure to Evergrande bonds, so they’re gonna get hit hard. Otherwise, this will pass. Somebody always acting a fool, aren’t they?

For many it isnt an act sadly. Damn ChiComs...nuke em boys.

We're civilized so we don't get to nip problems in the bud; we have to lose lots of lives fighting the "good fight" when the problems can no longer be ignored. We're always doing the pound of cure rather than the proactive ounce of prevention so no one can call us a bully.

Commununist is such a serious insult in my family, it is precisely half a rung above roving child molester on the "waste of flesh and air" index for humans. If you squint when looking at the chart, one could easily mistake those 2 kinds of humans for being all tied up for dead lowest rung....i just came up in a very patriotic military family at the height and then conclusion of the Cold War.

Now to read conclusive evidence from Hunters own emails that the Biden familyhas been on the take for MANY millions of $...going back to at least his VP stint....the treason of it all makes me actually feel sick in my stomach because this feeaking POTATO is completely compromised to our worst enemies...and we are powerless to do anything about it. He should be shot by a firing squad for treason against our Republic. Bet that lands me on a list...i have no desire to encounter that poor demented sap in any way....but fully support Federal charges ASAP for both Burisma and the ChiComs.

Maybe it's because they know we have a weak feckless President they control.

Guess they already reneged on the trade agreement. And fools want to embark on CC treaties and other non sense. Eff em

Still, Chinese purchases in the first half of this year totaled just $7.274 billion, according to U.S. Census Bureau trade data. The trade deal called for $36.5 billion in annual purchases.

That's probably because the Chinese want to sell US airlines their new COMAC C919, and don't want their own buying imports. You've got to love their gall in stealing technology from us and then wanting us to pay for the goods they develop using it, but that's China, and what they've done for decades (or centuries).
