We have a little more detail in here, as they say they were confident the object was "not US", that would rule out a weather balloon. It also says the object was zip zagging around with the wind.... That, with the size, would make this a much more difficult shot. Both f-35's AND an f-22 were involved. They basically shot down what amounts to a small balloon that was moving in an unpredictable manner, astonishing shot really.

I know. It really ****s with my head. At 5 years old after 9/11, I already knew I would die to protect this country once I came of age.

By the time I was 18, we were in forever wars that I didn’t believe in. I didn’t want to fight and die to line someone’s pockets.

Now that there is a real threat to us starting to puff out their chest… is this even a country worth fighting for anymore? Ideologically, at least. I still believe in America. I still love America. But we have serious issues. It hurts me to my core to say these things.

I have an 18 year old son now and all of this scares the crap out of me..America as a construct I still believe in, but we have today I can honestly say for the first time in my 47 years on this planet, I am really not sure itbis worth fighting for and I am a DAR member.. and no, I don’t feel that because my ancestor fought in the Revolutionary War I am more patriotic before someone makes a smarta$$ jealous comment lol

If there were a list of 100 things that we needed worry about, this would be #10,000 on the list. it should be assumed at this point that some objects are going to slip by. Plus, if anyone has any thoughts of our air defense system really being able to stop a substantial number of nukes coming over the Arctic, they are delusional. Sure, we might stop a few... or even 95% of them even. That 5% that do get through would still be a catastrophic event.

Maybe we should learn to play well with others and do away with this constant poking of nuclear powers. Just a thought.
