sweet. Now get missouri to come with them and we are rolling in the right direction. 2 competitive schools with high populations.

man come on you cant ignore A&Ms history and Mizzou has been ranked #1 far more recently than we have. Plus Mizzous basketball style would be awesome having mike Anderson and Bruce running full court press at each other

yeah not exactly sure I agree in that aspect :ermm:......but I for some reason am really having a hard time saying that the SEC owning Saint Louis and Kansas City would be a bad thing

Isn't KU and KSU closer to KC than Mizzou. I feel like it would be more the St. Louis Market than anything.

if for nothing else once the pac-10 gets to 16 then the big 10 will want to match and we know they are interested in Mizzou then. If thats the case we get them so Big 10 has to settle for something else

Meh... I would rather make a push for UNC and NCST and let Mizzou be a fallback option. Having the Charlotte/Research Triangle would be a decent feather in our cap, not to mention the bandwagon UNC fans across the country.

with NC and State to go with A&M leaves us 1 short which is why Mizzou works since you would only need1 more west division team to add as Wolfpack and tar Heels would be east

Suppose you ask a pretty girl to your party.

Suppose she says no.

Suppose you convince one of her two best friends, and she accepts.

Suppose you ask the other best friend, and she says yes, too.

Suppose you ask the pretty girl, again, now knowing that her other friends are coming.

Maybe she comes, too.

Maybe the first song played at your party is the, "Yellow Rose of Texas".

interesting. LOVE to see Texas draged into the SEC here if possible.

What is interesting to me is that if Mike Slive is in College Station, there is one reason why he is there. He is there to make a pitch or to accept their application to the SEC. When and if Texas A&M joins the SEC, that will give us 13 teams (uneven) which means we will need one more school to make it 14. Perhaps Slive already has a school in mind.

As I understand it the PAC 10 is making a pitch in College Station tomorrow, so I don't see that anything is settled yet.

(for the people who don't know: There are two Kansas City's.

The big one is actually (despite name) Kansas City, Missouri. That's the one where the chiefs, royals, and everyone are located.)

Apparently from everything I've been reading, KC - being in state - also falls under Mizzou's market, and possibly get showings over KU's....like a similar way to Memphis in our state

that was one of the reasons why people were certain the Big 10 would invite Mizzou, b/c it would give them complete control of STL and it would also get them into Kansas City

I was aware that KC is split in half basically by the border. I was unaware that the Missouri side was like that though. Hell, I think that Fayetteville is about as close to KC as Mizzou is.

If the rumor is true, that is exactly what is happening here . . . and the second song played at the party is a show tune called Oklahoma!

I have no idea. If I had to guess potential schools, I would guess Missouri, Va Tech, FSU, Miami, Clemson, and Ga Tech as some schools of interest.I wouldn't count out wildcards such as Louisville and West Virginia either.

ESPN is reporting that the SEC wouldn't target any ACC schools ,but their reports of this ongoing conference realignment haven't been exactly reliable. I trust Chip Brown more than the ESPN guys (Schad, Feldman).

He went there to formally invite them. He didn't go to ask what they thought about the SEC. I heard something about Scott (the Pac 11 AD) being at OU and OU not being impressed and Slive maybe making his way up to Norman. Not sure if this is true though. Its not impossible to take four teams from the big 12 to join the SEC and not have to bother with the ACC.

Mizzou is in columbia near the center of the state

right, now I might have misunderstood their setup, but I think they work kind of like memphis does for us; I need to reread everything to be completely certain

But I do know that a whole lot of analysts were saying that Big ten taking Mizzou would have given them complete control of the STL market and would also give the Big 10 Kansas city's market

Columbia to KC: about 125 miles
Fayetteville (AR) to KC: 237 mi (so about double)

KSU is about 121 miles from KC (but in a different state)

Lawrence is really close, so I imagine Kansas still gets into KC's market some....but I don't think they have a greater control due to not being in state....I'd have to read/research into that one more

I was reading other media outlets ,and I believe you may be spot on, Knucklehead. We'll just have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
