About as much sense as it would be to hire Dooley to coach the Broncos. You don't hire a guy who just got canned for incompetence.

The University of Miami hired a guy that just got canned. They made the best hire in the NCAA this year, imo.

Just not in the SEC! That guy being able recruit in the southeast would be a nightmare. Imagine him at A&M with that fast break O and chief on the D.

This makes sense to me - Kelly may get his pick between A&M and Texas depending on how Charlie Strong does in year 3.

I think Sumlin is a goner at A&M.

6-9 is not 9-3.

Explain how hiring Chip Kelly as an NFL HC could possibly be the best hire in the NFL.

I did not say he would be the best hire in the NFL. I think he needs to go back to the college level.
I said the University of Miami made the best HC hire of the year, imo and I stand by that statement.

ESPN may pay him to go to Texas, they just lost almost 50mil on the Texas sports site. Would help them get more people watching

Interesting to see what happens with the NFL positions come black Monday...Hue Jackson could be tied up with the Bengals till 2d or 3rd week of January, so interesting to see if Titans or Colts lean forward to get Kelly...I could see him with either, if he takes a year off looks like he could end up at aTm, LSU, or Aubbie (and if that happens, I will call it now...we'd promptly see Saban retire within 2 yrs after going 0-2 against Kelly). I think TX turns the corner next year Strong stays, perhaps he head's back to PAC-12, like either ASU or Buffs. Lets just hope he doesn't get a wild hair and decide to replace Stoops at Kentucky.

I honestly don't think you will see Chip back in college. He absolutely hates recruiting and the dancing he has to do for donors and big money people. I'd be willing to be he either sits out a year and pursues another HC gig somewhere in the NFL or a OC position in the NFL.
